The Story of Sharka:

Desmond Dano, Crazy Shirts artist, designed the Sharka character while playing games and singing songs with his daughter Shay-Lee. Learning about fingers and hands, they sang a popular childrens song, “Where is Thumbkin?” As Thumbkin was revealed, the inspiration for Sharka was conceived. By using the shape of his thumb, Desmond quickly drew the character you see today, Sharka! -Source

Crazy Shirts Origins

Crazy Shirts legacy began in 1964, when Rick Ralston founded one of the first companies in the world to sell the modern "T-Shirt" using distinctive designs that reflect the exuberant Island lifestyle. Ralston set-up shop on a Waikiki sidewalk charging $5 to airbrush monsters, hot rods and surfing scenes on T-shirts. Purchased by Only the Best, Inc. in 2001, our brand has evolved into an internationally recognized casual apparel brand. Sharka

Sharka is a plushie of a shark, produced by Crazy Shirts, and was designed by Desmond Dano. Sharka was said to have be designed "Twenty years ago" after Desmond got his inspiration after playing a children's game with his daughter. Sharka comes in two versions, one where he is yellow and holds a Pineapple, and another where he is gray and holds a Surf bored. Both versions come in two different sizes, small & baby. Small size has a fuzzier fur texture compared to the baby size.

You can purchase these Plushies at the Crazy Shirts website, or retail stores. You can also find the Sharka Pineapple at the Hawaii Dole Planation, which also sells Hello kitty pineapple/tropical themed plushies.
