“Are you lonesome tonight? Do you miss me tonight? Are you sorry we drifted apart? Does your memory stray to a bright summer day when I kissed you and called you sweetheart?”
Poppy sang quietly to herself, happy no one was around. It’d been a sad night for her but instead of talking to someone about it, she decided to let it out in song. She plopped down onto the ground, cross-legged, as she peered up toward the night sky.
“Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare? Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there? Is your heart filled with pain? Shall I come back again...? Tell me dear, are you lonesome to--” She stopped, body going rigid when she heard someone coming.
