christmas was undoubtedly alec’s favourite time of the year. everything just seemed to much more magical than it already did, even to muggles who had no idea real magic even existed. it was all just so exciting for alec, especially since he’d get wrapped up into both wizarding festivities as well as muggle things -- honestly speaking that was probably why he loved this time of year so much.
however, while it was true that period after christmas had finished and before new years had swung by could be disorientating and was easy to lose track of what day it was, alec still enjoyed it. after all it meant going back to hogwarts for the last couple of free days before term started again.
it also meant new years parties -- and this year it was eunice and dane who would be hosting. even more of a reason why alec would be celebrating and hard.
as per usual alec was being his social butterfly self. flittering around from table to table ( was there even tables ?? alec wasn’t so sure anymore ) talk to everyone and anyone that he could, regardless of whether or not they were also gryffindors. soon enough his eyes landed on a particular face he hadn’t seen all night. now he was starting to feel a little bad about it, so as tipsy as he was on fire whiskey he makes it his mission to spend some quality bonding time with his favourite mom friend, rowan.
he calls out her name as he approaches, wide grin sprawled across his lips as he does and doing that silly little wave thing he did sometimes when he’d had a couple of drinks. honestly he wasnt sure why he even did it. just went with the flow.
“ is this where you’ve been hiding all night? is that why i couldnt find you! ”
