SOFT ANGST STARTERS. // NOT ACCEPTING. ♡
It hurt. Looking at him hurt. The rejection had been a long time coming, but she hadn’t expected that the confrontation would come up so soon. There had been nobody else she would have wanted to go to the gala with more, but obviously, Alexandrew was taken. What had she been thinking? Asking somebody much older than her whose heart belonged to somebody else? He was with Brianna, for heaven’s sake. Why had that been so difficult to get through her thick skull?
Taking a deep breath, a strained smile could be seen on her lips. Eyes blinking rapidly to ensure that her tears would not become visible. She would not weep in front of him, express any sort of heartache. Angelica still had her pride held intact and having been put through several situations that made her cry, she had learned to control her emotions to a certain degree. That would be necessary if she wanted to get into the senate.
❝ That’s fine! It’s fine. You’re going with somebody else and that is totally cool. It’s silly, I don’t even know what I was thinking. I wouldn’t even have time to spend with a because of all the preparations I have to make. ❞ Her talking was faster as she found herself stumbling over her words, not as completely poised and perfect as she usually was. She couldn’t believe she had made everything up in her head, believed that he had looked at her differently. The compliments sent her way hadn’t even meant anything. With an overly bright smile, she tried to regain the preppy attitude that she withheld. ❝ I hope you have a great gala though! And I’ll probably see you around! ❞
Turning around, she was ready to just run away. Wanting to drown her teenage sorrows over big buckets of ice cream and activity planning. Activity planning was always the greatest cure for heartbreak.
