9. How did you get into writing fanfiction?

I've always been drawn to writing as a hobby (weird shy only child finding entertainment through telling myself stories) but with fanfiction specifically I'd just been reading a lot of it and it seemed like the writers were having a lot of fun? So I guess I had a case of fomo lol. Turns out writing it IS fun and also a nice creative outlet when life gets stressful (though it comes with its own set of stressors, usually self-inflicted.....)

28. What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

Ahhhhhhh well I've thought about writing a fic that starts almost immediately after Korra's fight against Zaheer, when she wakes up to discover she can't move her legs. I won't get into it, but I found lok during the single worst period of my life, and Korra's journey (throughout the show, but especially during book 4) was such an inspiration to me when all I could think about was how scared I was and how much pain I was in, and that's a huge reason why I've loved her character for so long and why no voice raised against her shall prosper✋️ But basically I think it would be personally cathartic and creatively challenging to write from her POV at that moment and then up until she starts working with Katara, and really flesh out that sick terror and impotent rage of having her mobility suddenly snatched away. Just have to work up the courage to actually start it some day lol.

32. A character you enjoy making suffer.

MAKOOOO 100% and it's NOT because I hate him (I love him) but because it's so very very satisfying to push his buttons until he's forced to stop brooding awkwardly and feel his own feelings and be vulnerable with somebody.

i see your additions to the milk post and i offer you this question — how much do you know about the evolution of milk? actually considering your job you might already know lots but i guess this is a non-subtle plug for me to yap about milk and mammalian evolution 😅

I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, meaning I took a training course and passed the exams and competency demonstrations. While most of the course is focused on how to actually help people with their lactation difficulties and support people in feeding their babies, the course obviously went into detail about what we know about milk composition (we're still learning!) and briefly touched on differences in milk across species.

For fun I dug into my binder where I kept all my notes from the course. If you want to see my bad handwriting maybe you would be interested in what notes I took during that portion of the course!

My main knowledge of milk across species is about how composition is generally linked to the frequency that the babies nurse, how long they nurse, and how much weight they need to gain during the time they nurse. My favorite extreme example is hooded seals, who only nurse for a few days and have 60-70% fat content in their milk. (Human's milk is only like 3-5%)

As for the evolution of milk in general? I don't know that much! It doesn't come up that often in my line of work 🤣 but as you can imagine I LOVE talking about milk lmao. please reblog and yap about the evolution of milk!!! I'm in learning mode because I'm currently working through an online lactation conference to get all my continuing education!!

so, i just finished reading your fic "curiosity opens the door" (very fun read by the way, highly entertaining!) and now i'm wondering some things. what was the inspiration for the... sex contract? i wasn't sure if there was some kind of cultural practice the whole thing was inspired by or if it was something you came up with. either way it's a super interesting concept to think about (and may possibly lead to some inspiration in my own worldbuilding hehe)

As for the sex contract, it’s something I came up with. It’s a part of the worldbuilding I haven’t had the time to touch on yet. There is a brief mention of the priestesses in the extra extra chapters of Aliteoth, but nothing else.

I guess the closest practise I could compare it to would be the royal bedding ceremonies in medieval times, but like, fun? (The observer comes from this) No duty, minor expectations from the people checking in, you’re mostly just meant to have fun, feel good and enjoy yourself while also getting pregnant :)

“what’s wrong with this guy” is about sozin. because what isn’t wrong with him /hj

okok it’s moreso an in between from when he becomes firelord and before roku is a fully realized avatar, mostly focusing on how he’s changed and a bit more about his (godawful) plans for the future: namely, succession planning (spoiler alert: his “type” in women is super tall girls with long brown hair…where have i seen that before…)

“mako sickfic” is mako getting sick and wu bullying him (affectionately) and they bond over a shared ‘piece’ of ba sing se (mako is JUST as earth kingdom as bolin is and i hate when people erase that >:( )

COPPERLEAF i adore him with everything in me. reading this has made me realize that the firespotted dynamic is SO MUCH better as familial. she's such a good mom even if the circumstances aren't great. spottedleaf is <3

Feathercloud is the bestest boy <3 he just kind of wrote his way into my heart lol. and Cherryfur!!! she also just spontaneously made her way into Main Character Territory. just because we were like "hmm. Cherrypaw dies in canon to a badger. how do we save her? CREEKPAW." and then best friendship was born lol. and Copperleaf is such a joy to write. really excited for what his future holds >;3

and FireSpotted! yeah I honestly love the familial relationship this AU has created. but I've also just realized I like any "AU" of Spottedleaf, and I put AU in quotation marks, because I like canon version of her, BUT implied canon version of her (where she's emotionally attached and not in a good way to Fireheart because of the trauma she endured from Thistleclaw; she never got closure for her relationship being wrong and thinks its okay to be attracted to a minor [in canon Spotted is 28 moons old when Firepaw is 6 moons]). (but enough rambling about that-) and I just LOVE Evil!Spottedleaf, honestly it was one of the best and most creative ideas to come out of the warriors fandom despite being so simple as "evil version." it really took the waca fandom by surprise and storm, and led to some of the most creative projects. BT!Spottedleaf is the complete opposite of Evil!Spottedleaf though XD she's a kind sweetheart who would cry if she hurt a fly
