i can't believe it took me this long to realize about my own ocs, but there's a whole reuinion between two "separated" siblings ive never even thought about
so basically i've got these two siblings, Snowstar and Hazelkit---
---and obviously Hazelkit dies as a kit, duh. basically her whole story is that she died, didn't want to admit she died, and kept pretending to be alive. so she's just a ghost running around playing pretend. for like. years. and no, nobody can see her really. maybe one or two med cats get glimpses, but there's no Tree or Goosefeather-esque cat at this time period so she's invisible forever rip
meanwhile, Snowstar obviously goes onto become leader, and like a super evil tyranical one. he gets involved in a whole cult and then gets murdered by said cult's leader for being a stupid idiot, so like obviously he gets sent to the Dark Forest
the whole time Hazelkit was pretending to grow up alongside him (Snowstar never knows btw, and if he did probably wouldnt care), except by the time he starts being really evil, she's kind of realize. oh yikes. her brother is evil and crazy and killing people. so she like gets a bit of a reality slap. eventually after his death, she just returns to the nursery and spends most of her time ghost sleeping there
enter Breezeflight!!! (she actually has kits with Snowstar as well, but they arent mates, Breeze is aro) Breezeflight, unfortunately, dies, and when she dies, she's about to be escorted to StarClan, but she notices little ghost Hazelkit and is like "uhhh ur coming with me" (Breeze never knew Hazelkit in life, was born after her death), and thus they enter StarClan together!!!
then we enter Main Character Smokeface's story, which you an read the old version of here, though something important to note that'll kind of be rewritten in is that Hazelkit should be faded by now in StarClan, but that she kept purposefully returning as a ghost/entering dreams to try and keep her memory alive. hence she along with Fishpaw become some of the biggest pusher's for Smokeface "living forever" and remembering them. Hazelkit may physically be a kit but she is the oldest chronologically of all of the Nine (mentally she is a bit stunted because her brain never fully developed into its adult state but still very intelligent regardless)
and basically thats a big big crime, sooooo when the Nine get found out, they're banished to the Dark Forest.... and, like, Hazelkit was aware her brother was in there, but it's not like she ever really went there.... maybe tried to once but the guards stopped her probably. but now she's here forever, and her large group is gonna attract attention... interest.... rumors spread quick about the cats with stars in their pelts, living in the Place of No Stars.
unfortunately, Snowstar would definitely not recognize Hazelkit (barely remembers the fact that he had a sister honestly) and is mostly just curious about her group as a whole. meanwhile Hazelkit would probably be feeling. a lot of things. she loved her brother, she "grew up" beside him... and she saw him do horrible things. and now she's here. with him. and he doesn't care about her. does she care about him? not really anymore after the years fading away in StarClan...
...but both of them had the same goals, in the afterlife, to not fade away... and he did it by training cats in hell, and she did it by giving a living cat nine lives illegally.
maybe... she did deserve to be in the dark forest after all.
