Lingua Ignota Interview // Create and Destroy Podcast
Interview via Create and Destroy Podcast Adhering to the tropes of certain musical genres is not something that appeals to Lingua Ignota's Kristin Hayter. In fact, Kristin's hopes with Lingua Ignota it to create a genre of music that is in a realm of its own. By integrating elements of metal, noise, industrial, and classical into her music, Lingua Ignota obliterates its listeners, pounds away at them, all while exploring themes of torment, abuse, and the wrath of an ever-present and vengeful god. Dan sat down with Kristin to discuss her music, her recent tour in Europe with Amenra, religion, and the weird ass noise that peacocks make.

I’m super excited to share with all of you that, for the last several months, I’ve been working on and laying the groundwork for my own podcast. The podcast is called Create and Destroy, and it’s a weekly podcast where I sit down with artists of all kinds to pick their brains on what makes them tick, and to find out what gets their hands moving and brains firing.
I’ve been actively sharing and blogging on Tumblr for almost 10 years now, and it’s a community that is near and dear to my heart. As such, I’m extremely excited to be sharing this news with all of you. My first episode is currently available to listen at the podcast’s site, and I’m waiting for my submission reviews from iTunes, Google Play, and Stitcher, so you should all be able to check it out wherever you get your podcast fix from.
Additionally, since this podcast is a show where I interview people that create cool things, I’d love to hear from you. If you’re interested in having a conversation with me, or think there’s someone I should consider reaching out to, hit me up and let met know! I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks so much, everyone, and I hope you enjoy this adventure along with me.

As far as instrumental metal music goes, for Dan, Brooklyn, NY's Sannhet is the gold standard. Sannhet's music effectively captivates and envelopes the listener predominantly without vocals, all while being raw, gritty, pummeling, and even redemptive at times. Dan sat down with John to talk about Sannhet, their latest EP Short Life, and working with Josh Strawn on the track The Eternal. John also blows Dan's mind when they discuss the band's light and projection show that they incorporate into their live performances.

Fresh off the release of Funeral Advantage's latest album, Nectarine, lead singer and guitarist Tyler Kershaw returned as Create and Destroy's first reoccurring guest to talk about their latest release and what went into creating that album. Departing from the bare-it-all lyrics that pervaded Please Help Me-which showcased a very tumultuous period in Tyler's life-Nectarine sees Tyler and Funeral Advantage craft songs and lyrics where he's not the focal point, instead drawing on subjects and people outside of himself. Nevertheless, Nectarine sees Tyler and co. create another slam dunk album of dreampop that fans have come to love. Tyler and Dan also discussed Tyler's participation in House of Harm's live show, SLC Punk and German actor Til Schweiger, as well as Greta Van Fleet. Dan also shares some thoughts on the final season of Game of Thrones.
