Synopsis:
Travis King is the worst kind of asshole. He taunts me for being a good girl and mocks my high standards. He’s cruel, crass, and has enough confidence to last two lifetimes. And I hate him. It wouldn’t matter so much if he were avoidable. But considering he’s my older brother’s best friend and roommate, I see him more than I’d ever want to. His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are a waste Aon such an egotistical man, which makes me hate him even more. Even though I’ve had a crush on him since I was ten, the feelings weren’t mutual and he’s always made that very clear. He’s always loved getting under my skin and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed. I’ve succumbed to his man-whore ways, but that doesn’t change a thing. Because the King is about to get played at his own game—and lose. Review:
Crap on a saltine cracker!
This is war was a perfect start off for Kennedy fox’s new series, I loved every second of Travis’ and Viola’s power struggle. Enemies to lovers was never a truer statement, Viola has hated Travis since she was 13 years old and the only thing that has kept her from really putting rat poison in his food is the fact that he is her older brother’s best friend. I only have one problem with this book; Travis is an enormous slut (one reason why Viola hates him) and while they trade barbs full of sexual innuendos, and mind fucking each other, I just think that she gave in a little too soon. The sexual tension could be cut with a knife causing, as you can imagine, more sexual tension only with sweet release right in their grasp. The mind games range from “did that just happen” to HOLY SHIT! And all of this just to keep up the ruse that they hate each other (well they kinda do but it’s a total misunderstanding)
But that fucking ending though! I had to go back and re-read the ending because I wasn’t really sure if I read it correctly the first time… I did and now I’m just beside myself and upset that I have to wait for the second installment to bless my life. I love love LOVED, This Means War the second installment cannot and I mean CANNOT come out soon enough!
