Todays @youversion scripture seems so obvious. Seems so logical. Seems so simple. And what I have found is that often time when something seems so simple and logical we naturally assume we are doing it. Most times we aren’t. The problem with this scripture is the word “Evil”. Many see themselves as good natured and well intended. The thought that someone would perceive themselves as evil would be far fetched. Take this simple test: - Do you ever gossip or speak poorly of another person, particularly if you feel they have done you wrong? - Do you ever judge the actions of another person? - Have you ever pretended not to notice a person wanting to merge into your lane? - Have you ever made or laugh at a joke at another persons expense? - Is there a coworker or neighbor you harbor resentment for? - Have you ever held a grudge? - Do you “innocently” hide or blur the truth once in awhile? - Is it truly possibly that you have never had a thought, word, or action that wasn’t 100% pure? Evil isn’t reserved for criminals and deviants. Evil in this scripture refers to anything that would be counter productive to fostering a positive experience for someone else. Let me tell you… from experience… small things come back to you in a big way‼️‼️ If what you are doing or saying or thinking at any given moment can’t be experienced well by another person, then there’s a good chance it has a negative intention - evil. Again, I want to remind you that I’m not interpreting scripture here. I’m leveraging lines and passages in scripture as a potential path for how to live a great creation. In this book, Job is portrayed as a pretty upstanding guy who went through a significant series of events that essentially messed with him. The burning question being, why do bad things happen to good people? What this passage is revealing to me is that when you dwell on negative thinking, you in essence bring it into your reality. This can get out of control as your negative thinking creates negative events which then becomes the fuel for more negative thinking. Somehow, Job gets a negative thought. And that thought begins to permeate his imagination. When that happens to us, we are giving the subconscious mind (where God resides) “permission” to attract whatever it is you are dwelling on. The second sentence in the passage speaks to the compounding affects of anxiety, fear, and doubt continuously taking over our thoughts and emotions, spiraling life out of control. Claude Bristol was quoted: “Thought attracts that upon which it’s directed” When your phone rings and the caller ID says “Potential Scam” or “Spam Risk, etc - the best thing to do is reject the call. Because if you accept it, and spend anytime entertaining it, it can do some real damage. When I get a call like that, I immediately reject it. I don’t even give it a micro thought. I never linger on what it was. I just forget about it. We need to do the same with negative thinking. These thoughts get us in trouble. It attracts counter-creation events. Rewrite the passage above for yourself as: “For the things that I have desired the most, God has gifted to me”. On the surface, this passage seems pretty obvious. Obscenity in particular when used to cause harm or make someone hurt or bring sorrow or pain would certainly be an assault on a child of God. I’ve always said, “Before you speak to anyone, seek God behind their eyes. Then choose your words objectively and compassionately”. But when it comes to how obscenity works in terms of creating outcomes in your story, I believe it means eliminating the use of self-negativity; to cease flooding your mind with counter-creation thoughts. I’m referring to the use of words, thoughts, and internal conversations that God would be highly offended by because it’s an insult of his divine creation - YOU❗️❗️❗️ As an example, imagine you walk up to a small baby, you look in the crib with his or her parents standing closely by and you say “Oh my, what an ugly baby”. I would imagine that those parents would be quite offended over the words being spoken. Yet although they did not contain a specific obscenity by definition, those words would most definitely be considered obscene and offensive to the parents who conceived and brought that child into this creation. So, when you speak negatively of yourself, are you not insulting the father of your creation? You are enlisting words and thoughts and doubt that puts ruts and potholes in the path of your divine creation. I would imagine that the God who created you might consider that to be obscene and offensive. “Put off the old self with its practices”, meaning - stop speaking poorly of yourself. Remove negative thinking that is an obscenity to the image of God. And replace it with a “renewed” image of yourself. So tell me… how can the Father of Creation, the Almighty Himself, the most significant and widely used name, term, word in the history of mankind be in a “secret place”⁉️ We’ll certainly we can assume that because God is not physically visible to us, that his whereabouts is hidden. But I don’t think that’s it. The reference to “Father” as opposed to God to me suggests that it’s important that we recognize that prayer is meant to provide life to what we desire (which could be anything). My mother often would refer to God as “Father” and the Holy Spirit as Holy “Mother” Spirit so as to frame up the importance of knowing that the Creator of All things had both paternal and maternal attributes. Our prayers are meant to be inner dialogues within our mind, which is this “secret” place referenced here. The only place that allows just you and God is your mind; your imagination. No one else can occupy this secret place. So “shut the door” means quiet your mind. And “pray in secret” means go into your imagination and talk to God there. And the “rewards” referenced here are the desires of your heart. Place those desires into your imagination. Speak to them as you would ask a parent for something you really, Really, REALLY want. And then have amazing unrelenting faith that it will be presented to you. And speak to no one. Do not try to manipulate the outcome through your own efforts. Because to do so tells the Father that you doubt His ability to bring such desires into your story. Our first post comes from the very first passage in Genesis. I believe it sets up the core blueprint for how to fulfill the desires of our heart stating that God created the universe by bringing something to a physical reality using pure energy and pure imagination. If the premise “Nothing was ever created until it was imagined” holds water then it stands to reason that our physical reality came from Gods imagination. God created. It’s that simple. From nothing came something. Everything imagined became real and it was good. I believe the energy used to create this plane of existence we currently occupy still exists and is still available to us. We just need to know how to harness it and leverage it. We need to plug in and imagine all the possibilities made available to us. Nothing is off limits, it just needs vivid imagination and untethered faith. As the initial story of creation concludes, we are told that all that is created is good. I don’t see this as an admiration of work, but more of a declaration of how creation works. It implies the universe is not designed to work against us, but simply to provide what we need to pursue our own imaginations. The unfolding of creation is never problematic. Life Is pure perception. It’s emotionally detached from how we receive it. It’s our thoughts and negative thinking, and fear that create less-than-desirable events in our lives. The perception of events and outcomes being beneficial or detrimental is held within the soul of the individuals affected by such outcomes. Basically, be careful what you think about… you just might get it. Good morning friends. It’s been awhile since I’ve put out a thought regarding how to #CreateYourGreat. This one kinda crept into my skull this morning during my morning M.A.P. time. I think we often put limitations on what we are willing to put into the hands of God. Maybe it’s due to some level of unconscious low worthiness. Maybe it’s a lack of faith that creating something great for ourselves is actually a doable reality because we think the external conditions are too big and formidable. I know I wrestle with both of those. But let’s consider for a moment that there is a force of energy that’s truly available to us to plug into. A spiritual source responsible for the original creation that is working for us, not against us. Is it unreasonable to think the Holy Spirit of Creation can handle giving us the resources to create something wonderful for ourselves. Maybe we just aren’t asking. Maybe we’ve placed limitations on God. Maybe it’s just a matter of praying and pursuing. Have an awesome day. Create something great today.
