Crafter Problems

I cannot work on just one project at a time. I think I've mentioned this before.

So these are the shawls I'm working on while working on crochet orders.

The shawl on the left is Fiber Spider's Lapping Waves shawl (using fine cotton in Never Give Up from Yarns by Angel) and on the right is Jonna Martinez's Victoria's German Shells (using fine cotton in Endless Joy from Yarns by Angel). I'd say the Lapping Waves is about 75% done while German Shells is 30%.

I had to relearn how to make cheerleading pompoms last night, though, and to help me out, I got this.

It's a very lovely, very sharp pair of scissors. But I almost wasn't able to use it yesterday. Can you spot why? LOL

I'm trying to get my schedules straight as I'm back to writing regularly for two websites. What? Yeah. It's very exciting and the topics are quite close to my heart!

I'll be sharing my work for the websites at some point. Maybe I'll make them my Saturday posts. Hmm...

I hope everyone is keeping well. Or at the very least, hanging on for the weekend break!

Projects, Projects, Projects

I don't know why but I cannot seem to keep to just one project at a time.

I started this one, a pattern called Victoria's German Shells via Jonna Martinez on YouTube, midway through the Lapping Waves shawl. The yarn is called Exceeding Joy from Yarns by Angel on Facebook and Instagram.

My other shawl I already mentioned earlier. This is Lapping Waves by Fiber Spider. I'm quite proud and pleased to show off the progress based on how big the gap in the center has grown.

And, of course, there is this.

This is an order made by a new client who asked me to create a Batman mask/cowl beanie for his godchild. His wife asked me make Baby Yoda beanies for her and now I'm studying how best to make the ears.

Crochet has suddenly become a very exciting thing for me. It is, as my husband says, practical maths that just really appeals to me.

And hey: it's art!

My 10 Arts and Performance photos!

These are the 8 different types of art I've come to enjoy these past years:

1. Crochet is both a hobby and something I aim to earn from since I spend so much time doing it. (1 ,2, 3)

2. Selfies. Hoo boy. I'm terrible at selfies because I feel so self-conscious taking them. (4)

3. Fountain pens! Nothing more to add other than I. Am. In. Love. (5)

4. Planners and planner art. I used to be so utilitarian with my use of planners but now, the pages make me extra happy because of the stickers I use to decorate. (6)

5. All things vintage! The 50s aesthetic appeals to me so so much. I am actually hoping to restore my grandmother's sunglasses so I can use it. (7)

6. Nail polish, oh my! Love it but I almost always ruin it so quickly. (8)

7. Cooking and plant care. I raised the blue butterfly pea plants that gave the flowers to make this blue rice. So proud of the fact because I am rarely able to keep plants alive. (9)

8. Being comfortable with "me dates". Alone time is a luxury for me now and I treasure each time I am able to indulge. (10)
