Prototypes
These are what i suggested we base our work on
Fashion - PA
Actions speak louder then words, i paid attention this time.
We covered Locking, Breaking and Crump.
We even performed some, i am not made for dancing. At all.
Group notes
Group has the entire project locked down. As i am no artist all i could provide was a framework but they did the rest.
Fashion - CW
Gonna be real honest here, i really wasn’t paying attention in this one. As a fat dude (my fault) I have no interest in something I cannot partake in.
When the conversation went from describing your own style I zoned so far out i could have been shot and i wouldn’t have noticed.
Group notes:
Talked to the group about the works and made practice formats but i’m no artist.
Indigeneity - PA
Chuki Dancers - Native dancers using a synth track have toured the world.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-MucVWo-Pw
Black Comedy - Australian Sketch comedy, written and performed by Australian Natives
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMp4UVXFUtI
I’m really bad at keeping notes.
Group Notes
So figured the format we should present our piece, 6 images one for each of us as a hero and one with all of us.
Enviroment - PA
Studio Ghibli - Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke have important environmental messages that cover how we interact with it.
Micheal Jackson - Earth Song, one of his most powerful music videos.
Exercise: Interact with a piece of the environment, man made or natural. I proposed a performance based on the line of benches against the wall next to the cafeteria.
Group notes:
Sufira has left to get married. We are now five.
I just realize i haven't posted our group name, we are little BIG Roku.
Presentation Script
Heres the presentation script
We’ve come to a very interesting time in media. Stories of Heroes and exceptional persons from series long running have become the most profitable franchises in the world.
The likes of Batman and the Avengers have convinced folks to forfeit billions of dollars.
These stories don’t just appeal to the young white male market anymore, but reach across gender, cultural and age demographics.
But why? Why would folks in funny costume with various abilities stopping threats of widely different levels be so popular?
The answer is rather simple and pretty universal. It’s about the idealised self.
Power, intelligence, charisma, a drive to help others and for some...Fame.
We wanted to go back to the original format and and show others our idealised selves.
We will create 6 original characters and present them in Variant cover format for a fictional comic book bearing our teams name.
“little BIG Roku”
We will present said covers as a wall display with seven images One with each cover and a combined piece. Hopefully around A3 size.
Environment - VA
Robert Smithson - Builds environmental art with materials from its own enviroment.
Cristo - curtained a whole valley. Gave islands skirts. Covered Pont Neuf in fabric. Covered a castle in the same way. Very impressive.
Chris Booth - builds structures that compliant the environment that they are in
Richard Orjis - Separated a section of grass and allowed it to grow independent of the rest of yard. Got mowed :(
Lisa Crowley - Photographer that captures environmental devastation
Eve Armstrong - Junk artist. Makes art with junk
John Wolesly - Lets nature paints for itself
Group notes
Presentation time is upon soon, i’ll deal with it
