I had a fair bit of work cut out to fix the shaking and haze but I think the end outcome is way beyond what I could have expected. Fixed the haziness in Lightroom on the RAW images but speedramping the footage really helped mask it and adding a sound to the slowdown and reset really tied it all together. The camera shake I tried fixing with Warp Stabilizer but it was tracking to the stars rather than the fence or trees meaning the frame was really strange and cropped +rotating with the stars. 

Taking the video into After effects and trying several different tracking stabilising fixed the issue though there was one frame where it would jump a huge leap to the left. Ended up manual adjust that section frame by frame but in the end the shake is practically non-existent. First time using AE but definitely a useful skill I should have learned much earlier

Leaving the best until last is a thing right? By far my favourite shot to round off the series. I had previously tried my hand at astro-photography but never has anything come out quite like this especially from my backyard in Central Auckland. The night was so clear that I just had to whip out the camera and take a wild swing and the stars. I knew lens fogging was going to be a huge issue so I sat out in the cold baby sitting the camera until it had acclimated to the outdoors. Editing this was a bit of a nightmare trying to fix some slight camera shake and the haze but in the end I think this is the best photography I've ever done. Also had the smart Idea of shooting potrait to optimise quality for mobile viewing.

This single shot, long exposure was a quick run and gun ordeal on a super calm night on the harbour with low cloud cover causing the lights in the suburb across the way, just down the path from the last stop of the bus when I fell asleep and ended up going past my stop. Tried to edit it to be more grungy to create a darker mood than my previous edits which I think turned out quite good. The mood evoked from the calm sea, the reflection of the lights on top of the colour pallete and the portrayal of the subject faded out and walking away.

I wanted to add an aspect of graphic design to one of my images with an idea of trying my hand at developing branding. I started planning this image way earlier in the semester but only figured out the look and feel of the piece while working on editing another project for an elective. Really drawn to a teal and orange vibe again but thought I went a bit strong on the vibrance and saturation. I ended up going back and editing this again to make it mobile friendly and less overkill on the color pallete.

My favourite double exposure of the series. Composed of a shot from some rocks at the beach mixed with a still from out the window after staying late in studio. Masking and feathering definitely could use some further touching up but overall quite pleased with the tone of the image.

Second attempt of editing in Photoshop for double exposure. Composed of another shot from Tongariro screened with a night shot from the lights by my bus stop in town. The masking and feathering of the edge was not up to scratch but this is the first edit I actually did mid commute on my laptop track-pad so I'm actually surprised how clean it looks, well on my phone at least. this would be the first proper Creative Commute I guess.

Somehow not sick of time-lapses yet and wanted to try my skills out with shooting a moonrise. Poor fuel tank awareness and traffic meant I missed the start and didn’t have time to fine-tune the exposure and timing. Tried to fix the RAW files in post but just wasn't happening with the moon being overexposed  but the rest being under exposed. tried a graduated filter in LightRoom but the clouds passing made it too jarring and I wasnt exactly keen on doing it frame by frame. Need to invest in some filters ut again the Teal and Orange on city lights is one of my favourite looks.

Thought it was about time to mix things up a bit and thought I try learn a bit of photoshop. This is my first attempt at creating a double exposure Image and I feel that this looks good on mobile for social media but when viewed on a larger screen the colours and exposure aren't quite as well blended as I would have liked. The composition is of a Night long exposure pointed at a motorway and floodlit sports field pulled out of focus stacked on to a photo taken last year tramping the Tongariro N-Circuit.
