#my post #valwynd (elden ring)#elden ring #its funny how the different angles look so vastly different #idk when i decided on going the route of trying to make it look like part of the left side of her face and eye were damage #but i like what i was able to manage with what the game allowed. the eye detail specifically #i dont think she always had red eyes but i got the eye effect from doing the bloody finger plotline or smth and liked it a lot #im also fond of just like. red/orange haired women characters originally she looked a bit more like an old oc of mine #her usual hair is the one with the long braid i couldnt get it visible without too much of her face being obscured #it kinda looks like her eye is infected. i dont think theres stuff to have damaged looking eyebrows or anything and it looks more like #its some kind of spreading infection or whatnot. i figured its smth that was inflicted on her before she became a tarnished proper #and the spread was then halted by whatever it is that being a tarnished does that makes you just come back after death. smth smth grace #im soooo fucking rusty on the game lore man. im gonna restart from scratch soon anyways. and just do her again #same build and all of that bc i really liked what i ended up with #i have so many thoughts abt her and her journey through the lands between as a sorta little fanfic type story but like. anyways #i beat that game id like to thank black knife tiche for being a huge help and also ranni. i did the age of stars ending so yay ranni #i dont see her face often outside of the creator bc the helmet i like covers the whole head #i might redo the final boss to see the ending cutscene again without her helmet just for the hell of it. send off for this first playthroug #the eyepatch is the default look? in case that wasnt clear. already i dont see her face period but then i also dont see a lot of the #left side of her face when i do see her face. i spent a while making her look like this purely for my own enjoyment

#they’re supposed to be some sort of experiment to see if people could recreate Sun Wukongs stone egg. the goal was to make a more controlled #and tame version using carved wood and cultivation. but eventually they got worried about it becoming too powerful and scrapped it #eventually they come to life and live in the abandoned temple they were built in #their bottom half is made of wood because when they came to life their creator/s left them unfinished when they scrapped the project #they had to carve the rest of their body out of hunger and frustration because they couldn’t eat or move much by crawling on their top half #this is also why they spite their creators and hate irresponsible creation. because of abandonment issues and feeling like they have no #purpose or direction in life #their power is also very limited to due being man made since they were originally a wood carving #meo gave me the idea but one reason would be because they’re half finished. the sculpture was still half stump so it was completely untouche #that half can channel power in its raw form but the other half cannot once it’s been carved by man #so technically they could have the same level or potential for power as the stone but that was dampened #the other thing is how they were created to be a duplicate or recreation of a stone monkey and a celestial looked at that and was like #‘we’re not doing that again’ LMAO #i think the case of them carving their own legs doesn’t take away their power though. that balance was made #before they came to life so carving the legs or not can’t affect it anymore. like making a cake and slicing it #their energy levels are also naturally low because of that so their movements are sluggish and they aren’t very active overall #constantly lying in the sun to charge their batteries and get some stuff done. just like me fr #I actually don’t know what I’m gonna do with this character besides Put Them In Situations with other ppls ocs.. so if you have #a lmk oc you have been warned /lh /j #I wanna make some backstory art for them though.. maybe even the animatic treatment if I can get through dear wormwood which is 25 #SECONDS OUT OF 3 MIN BTW #doodles #Lego Monkie kid #lmk #Monkie kid #lmk oc #monkie kid oc #myart #my art #xin ya

really wish people would read blog rules more, it makes running blogs like this very low reward and you feel like a machine if people aren't commenting and aren't even abiding by one of the, honestly, very few and politely phrased rules i even have

Fuck off with this stupid fucking 'right way to be in a fandom,' fandom was started by the housewives watching Star Trek who just wanted to imagine themselves there or to see two characters with the relationship they wanted to have. Fandom was for the queers and the poc people who HAD no representation and wanted to think... what if?

Who CARES if the person that follows someone who was your friend's ex's mutual twice removed makes stupid fanart or fix it fics of a series that's depressing and meant to highlight suffering.

Like ohhhh the fuckin people who look at a goddamned narrative and almost fucking purposefully misinterpret it grind my fucking gears. Some people will really look at whole ass satire and be like 'yeah, that's right!' and there is so much to talk about there, but fuck off with complaining about fan creators.

Just fuck off.

That and the Americanization of fandoms- both very important and introspective topics that are worth, and almost need, talking about! But every! Fucking! Post! That's like "people need to realize that America is not the only place in the world/holding all characters to a heavily Christian, "American" standard is pointless and annoying," or "fandoms meant for adults need to be able to process complex themes/if you can't look at a peice of media without acknowledging it's themes or bias in the narrative, you probably shouldn't be engaging with that peice of media" SOMEHOW ends up looping back around to like 'yeah fic writers/fanartists need to not do the things that make them happy because I PERSONALLY don't like it'.

People engage with things differently.

People go into fandom for different reasons.

People create for different reasons.

Conversations critiquing fandom (especially as it has become more mainstream and popular) absolutely need to happen, but like turning every argument into some 'fan creators are cringe (because we have different ways of engaging with the main media vaguely alluded to)' is so fucking
