                                     "Trust you?" Amelia repeated skeptically, almost in a mocking-type manner. She forced a laugh as she kept her wand directed towards the wizard, her nervousness undeniable by the trembling of her hand. "Yeah, right. Like I haven't heard that one before!" 

It wasn't at all her desire to appear so frightened, so vulnerable and pathetically weak, but she couldn't control herself: she knew the second she landed in the new time after using the turner that she had seriously stuffed up, and that alone terrified her. She kept a careful distance away from the stranger, her green eyes wide and studying his every move as though she expecting an attack. "Who the hell are you?"

Considering Newt was the only one between them that actually had a fancy, magic stick, he could feel free to do all the protecting he wanted. “Go on, then!
