CREEPY (a creep movie swap au fanfic )
Josef was looking out the window, waiting for his guest. He had recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor and was hoping for a long life with his wife Sara and their future child. But deep down, he knew he wouldn't make it, so he went to his old summer house, the one he used to go to with Sara more summers than he could remember. He planned to have a surprise for her; that surprise would be a video for his son, so he would know what he was like as a person, not just from photos and memories. He wanted something that only his son could have, something only he could say, that he was a good man.
He saw the dirt road surrounded by trees, then a yellow car appeared from a distance moving down the road. Josef smiled; he had hired him online and didn't know him very well, but they had agreed that for each day, the young cameraman would earn a sum of 1,000 dollars.
He smiled to himself; he knew it could be a bit weird to go and invite a stranger to his house, but he wanted to give it a chance—what could happen? He was going to die anyway. No, he had to stay positive no matter what.
He looked at the photo that was on the unlit fireplace; it was a photo of Sara smiling at the camera, her purple hair moving with the wind, slightly covering her face. She went up to the photo and cleaned the glass protecting it with her thumb.
Then the doorbell rang and he was a little surprised. He rushed down the stairs; he didn’t want his new guest to think it was a scam. He approached the door, held the handle for a few seconds, sighed, put on his best face, and opened it.
. . .
Nothing? There was no one, he looked around, nothing. He looked at the entrance of the house and the yellow car he had seen on the dirt road was there. He looked at it for a few seconds, went down the stairs at the entrance, and just as he was going down, from under the stairs a hand grabbed him. He shouted in fear, almost fell down the stairs from the scare and because something grabbed his leg from under the stairs. He held on in time to the railing, turned his head toward the small empty space that separated the steps, and then he saw it—someone was there. He felt a chill.
A voice sounded from under the stairs, embarrassed, or at least that's what Josef thought. "Wow, s-sorry buddy, I didn’t think you’d be so jumpy or react like that." The voice belonged to a young man. Then he came out from under the stairs, revealing a young face, less than 30 years old. He had a nervous smile and kept looking at him, apologizing over and over. He was wearing a plaid shirt, had a camera, wore glasses, had short, neat hair, and a bit of a beard. He introduced himself as Aaron and apologized, saying that it wasn't his intention for him to fall down the stairs, he just thought it would be fun to play a little prank as a first impression. From Josef's expression, he realized that maybe for the older man the 'prank' wasn't very funny. Josef sighed and smiled again, saying that it was nothing personal, he just tended to get scared easily.
Aaron looked at him and said that he was already there and that they should talk about the recording. Josef smiled, saying that they started right away, went up the stairs, and told Aaron to follow him. As he went up, Aaron carefully looked at the cabin. He stayed at the entrance and Josef went ahead. He stayed at the entrance and Josef stepped forward. He told him about how he beat cancer after a long struggle, but that for months he had been having not very pleasant changes, also painful symptoms like headaches, migraines, blurry or foggy vision, memory problems, and more. He went to see a doctor and it turned out to be a brain tumor. He stayed silent for a few seconds and said that it wasn’t necessary to talk about what type or more than that, only that the results showed it was inoperable and fatal. that he had only a few months to live but stayed strong and always hopeful of surviving once more. He looked at Aaron and said that the recordings they would make were for his future son Daved, but they called him Buddy. He would be born, and the chances of him meeting him were almost zero. And that's why the recordings would be a diary of his days so that his son could watch them and get to know him when he grows up.
Aaron, who hadn't stopped recording, just smiled and said he was strong for doing that. He held out his arms to Josef, and the man stayed silent for a few seconds but accepted the hug. They smiled.
Josef thanked him and said he hoped everything would go well, gave a thumbs up, and decided to show him the house so he could get to know it and record it so Buddy could see the summer house. He showed him the second floor, it was spacious, he showed him the kitchen, living room, and the balcony but noticed how Aaron looked at the stone fireplace where the shelf with Sara's photo was. He taught and said that she still didn't know that he was doing that; he wanted her to think it was just a normal vacation of Josef's and, upon returning, show her the video for her son. Aaron looked at the photo and said that he seemed like a good person. They continued the tour until Josef told him that he would help him unload his things from the car and move them to the guest room.
Aaron said not to worry about that, that he would do it himself. Josef insisted and headed to the first floor. Aaron turned off the camera, saying it wasn't necessary. They left the summer house and went down the metal stairs, approaching the yellow car that was waiting at the entrance.
Aaron sighed and opened the back part. Josef looked at the suitcases and helped Aaron take them down. He said that most of the things inside were just stuff for the cameras. Josef could barely hear, his vision was blurry, so he didn’t really know what was inside or what the suitcases looked like until he noticed that when Aaron was closing the back of the car, he saw something black. He touched it—it was a trash bag. He was about to set it aside but noticed from the texture a type of hair or a material similar to fur. He barely managed to open it, only seeing a little with his vision, something that looked like light brown fur. Aaron snatched the bag from him, saying it was something personal and to leave it there since it was just trash. Josef looked at him with a half-embarrassed smile and said it was his fault for trying to open it. There was an awkward silence, but neither tried to fill it; they just grabbed the suitcases and went back up to the summer house.
Josef could only think that he hoped he wasn't wrong in giving Aaron the benefit of the doubt as a person.
This is a creep AU swap where Josef is not the perpetrator but the victim. I saw a TikTok about that idea and thought, why not? And the tags will be updated, so for now, not sure if it will be Aaron/Josef.
