Hey, does anyone else remember Creepschool? That was a good tv show.
For those of you who don’t know, it was a Swedish-French-Canadian production, an animated series about four human children who accidentally ends up at a boarding school for monsters and ghosts and other supernatural beings. And it was great. There were episodes with possessed Halloween costumes, time travel, creepy existential stuff, doubles, theatre characters possessing their actors, school exams... you know, that kind of stuff. And the characters were all really fun, as I remember them. The four human kids fitted into obvious tropes (Emma - who’s apparently called Janice in the English dub - the goth kid, was always my favorite), but they were still fun to follow. And their monster classmates were GREAT, as were the teachers.
If you thought Hogwarts was a bit careless with the safety of students, you’ve seen nothing yet.
It also had a really great theme song (in English).
And hey! You know what I just discovered? As of this year, all 26 episodes are available in English free on youtube. Officially. I think they’re a bit shorter than the original episodes, so there might be some cutting, but hey, still awesome. And of course, you can find the Swedish episodes almost anywhere, online and on DVD.
So like, if you’re ever bored and wouldn’t mind watching a kinda fun kids’ show about ghosts and school? Sure, I haven’t seen it in a while, but I have fond memories of it. Check it out.
