If they followed like traditional Arab naming conventions she would most be called talia al ra'siya so something as the majority of Arab last names tend to denote like ancestry. So like presuming that Ra's is the ancestor in question (which is rare since he's her dad but whatevs) their last name would be al ra'si to show them as the descendents of Ra's al ghul but she's she's a woman al ra'siya would work. So basically they're kind of right but it's weird to have your clan name be for someone so recent.
On the other hand assuming that al ghul is their clan name and they have an ancestor called that or like that just is their clan name cause of other reasons (idk what but it can happen) she would probably just be talia al ghul or talia binte Ra's al ghul.
On the other other hand assuming that al ghul is Ra's title rather than his actual name bint al ghul would be a common like nickname/ title for talia. Also all of ra's' kids and grandkids would be called ibn/ bint al ghul and their title would be abna'a al ghul. (for example in my family were called abnaa al mutowa3 cause my grandad was like a religious dude in the community). So you're partially right if it's like a title.
Extra: Another Arab title that Talia would have would be Um Damian and Bruce would be caleed Abu Damian cause you're given a title based on your kid (usually your first born son) . :)
Either way it would just be best for DC to just give them normal fucking Arab names like Rashid, Talaa, Nadia, Dawood but like they're gonna do that so yeah.
Hope this helped!!
Fele free to ask me any more :D.
this is so helpful omg thank you! it’s rly cool to see the cultural overlap cause like even tho i’m not arab i am muslim so we’ve kind of followed the practice in that my last name is my dad’s first name and the same for him and so on and so forth so that’s how we trace back our ancestry ig, not necessarily by the overall clan but still connected to a general patriarchal line. and then not all pakistani families do the bin/bint thing but some of the more religious ones do, so two of my cousins have bin as their “middle name” even tho it’s just denoting who they’re the son of. and YES gosh i can’t believe i didn’t think about talia and bruce being called umm and abu gosh i wish dc wasn’t full of a bunch of racist asses so we could get damian being connected more to his arab culture bc arabic as a language rly is so beautiful esp the endearments and the ways people are referred to by familial connection it’s just so tender, the umm and abu titles obv translate into urdu too and they’re some of the ones i love most 😭
