can you tell us about crescavi? ngl I'm wondering what's up with the neon dick but also curious in general
*cracks knuckles* lemme talk to you about plant sex
SO Crescavi are a very fae, very old species I made a lifetime ago that are based around lost souls and compost heaps. They are basically ‘born’ when a body dies in the woods and is accepted by The Forest, the decomposition is just a means to reset the body into a new creature by way of all The Forest’s critters and fungi = Crescavi. NOW, that being said, as a brand spankin new cleansed creature, they can and do reproduce.
These gentle creatures are basically big sentient flowers, the closest they get to being considered a carnivore would be if one ‘adopted’ aspects of a fly trap or other hungry type plants. The ‘neon dick’ isn’t actually a dick at all. BUT Crescavi, being flowers, do have both stamen and stigma and ovaries and all those functioning bits. BUT here’s the trick. Like plants, the ‘baby’ germinates off base, so the seed baring Crescavi uses that tube dick to literally plant the egg-seed into a ‘nest’ made of collected compost by the parents (ie dead animals, rotting plants, snails, worms, bones, etc. they collect a lot of shit).
Crescavi pollen is potent, and it takes years of close contact by the parents to gather enough to produce a seed. They’re very warm hearted, cuddly creatures, constantly rubbing and leaning on one another. When planted, the babies literally crawl out of the ground and grow, spending their first few week in the nest. The ‘biggest’ or dominating flower on the parents bodies will be the dominant trait on the ‘sprout.’ The sprouts can collect and grow new flowers later.
Crescavi live in their Forest until they rot and die and return to it, sometimes becoming compost for the next generation. They have a tendency to lay down and die near the nursery for convenience, passing their Skulls down generations. They pair off for life as well, and raise their young in small family groups. The flowers are dependent on availability in the surrounding environment.
