The trouble with Slider Tech was that it was unstable. The overuse in the hay days of Shiva caused rifts to open and close, imbalances of energy in the fabric of reality expressing themselves as portals between universes. Rifts were violent when they appeared, a cloud of red energy that drew whatever had the bad luck of being close to them.

This time, one portal materialized in space. Floating along for all to see like a thunderstorm in space. An impossibility that would attract a good bit of attention.
