an unlikely pair | edgar & fabian
The moorland surrounding the safe-house was shrouded in fog, air thick with precipitation. Edgar found the sight rather poetic; he always seemed to find beauty in the dark and dismal. At Hogwarts, this had left him with the reputation of being something of a ‘weirdo’, but he wasn’t one to listen to idle gossip. In fact, Edgar rarely paid attention to the people around him in general, which is perhaps what lead to his current predicament.
Fabian Prewett was practically the antithesis of Edgar Bones; he radiated happiness and was rarely caught without an easy grin and a joke upon his lips. Whereas Edgar was more the strong silent type, often found frowning and writing thoughtfully. The two wizards had spoken barely a word to one another, and yet they were expected to patrol together. Edgar, too distracted by his own mind to fully comprehend the situation, found himself suddenly thrust into conversation. He watched Fabian speak, but the movements didn't immediately translate into words.
“I’m sorry, what was that?” Edgar asked politely, voice tinged with confusion. “I, um ... Well, I didn't catch it.” He finished lamely, putting on his coat in preparation for the gloomy weather.
