Pakistan Will Be A Challenging Outfit In England & WI

Pakistan has recalled pace bowlers - Mohammad Abbas and Naseem Shah - for the Test series against the West Indies.

Meanwhile, Azam Khan, the uncapped hard-hitting batsman from Quetta Gladiators, has been picked in the T20I set-up, for the series against England and the West Indies.

The T20I squad also includes veteran all-rounder Imad Wasim.

"We have remained consistent in our selection and kept the same core of cricketers who have been in the set-up for a while. This is an extremely important and critical tour for Pakistan, as we will be playing the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League ODIs against England as well as the T20Is against England and the West Indies as part of our preparations for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The Jamaica Test will count towards the ICC World Test Championship," said Mohammad Wasim - the Pakistan chief selector, said,

"As such, keeping in view the above and in consultation with captain Babar Azam and head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, we have tried our best to maintain the winning combinations, but at the same time recalled four experienced players and rewarded uncapped Azam Khan for his domestic performance, while also giving him the required confidence for the future challenges," he added.

"Yasir Shah's inclusion is subject to clearing his fitness test. He was sidelined due to a knee injury after the second Test against South Africa earlier this year and was expected to reclaim complete fitness for the West Indies tour. It, however, has not been the case, but we remain hopeful that he will complete his rehabilitation before our departure," he added.

"The side since the home series against South Africa have maintained an upward movement, but still there are a few loose ends that we would like to close by the end of the England and West Indies tours, so that there is absolute clarity on our compositions for the post West Indies tour engagements. I strongly believe the changes will plug those gaps and will put us in a strong position in our endeavours to feature in the top three across all formats by the end of 2023." concluded Wasim.

Pakistan will play three ODIs and three T20Is in England from 8-20 July, before taking on West Indies in five T20Is that will be followed by two Tests.

Paddikal Century Sees Royal Challengers Through To 10 Wicket Win

IPL 2021 16th Match - Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore - Mumbai

Devdutt Padikkal became the second century maker of the tournament when he hammered an unbeaten 101, as Royal Challengers Bangalore routed Rajasthan Royals by a whopping 10 wickets in Mumbai in their IPL match on Thursday.

Padikkal and his captain Virat Kohli who opened the innings made the target of 177 look so small, as they finished the match with more than three overs to spare to return to the top slot in the IPL points table.

Padikkal in particular was surprisingly more aggressive than his senior and experienced partner Kohli, as he struck 11 fours and four sixes in reaching his hundred in only 52 balls.

Kohli made an unbeaten 72 from 47 balls with three fours and an equal number of sixes.

Among the wickets to fall were Jos Buttler (7), Sanju Samson (21) and David Miller who fell leg-before to paceman Mohamed Siraj without scoring. Siraj also accounted for the scalp of Buttler who was the first to be blasted out, bowled with the total at 14 in the third over.

But thanks to Shivam Dube (46), Riyan Parag (25) and Rahul Tewatia (40) the Royals reached a total of 177 that looked respectable, until Kohli and Padikkal began the run chase.

Siraj bowled best for the Royal Challengers as he picked up three wickets for 27 runs while the Royals lost nine wickets in all.

Wonder Brar's Heroics Helps Punjab Kings Trounce Royal Challengers Bangalore By 34 Runs

IPL 2021 26th Match - Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore - Ahmedabad

Punjab Kings found an instant hero in new comer Harpreet Brar who made a quickfire 25 and captured three prized wickets, as they beat favourites Royal Challengers Bangalore by 34 runs in their IPL match at Ahmedabad on Friday.

Brar shot to the limelight like a bolt from the blues as he initially marked his presence with a last-ball six against the tournament's leading wicket taker Harshal Patel as the Punjab Kings set the Royal Challengers a target 180 .

The Punjab Kings restricted the powerful Royal Challengers batting line-up to 145 for 8 in the 20 overs, as Brar with his left arm spinners took the wickets of Virat Kohli (35), Glenn Maxwell (0) and AB de Villiers (3) within the space of just 12 balls to trigger a major collapse from 62 for 1.

Brar lifted the spirits of the Punjab Kings, when he joined his captain and opening batsman K.L. Rahul, who kept losing partners at regular intervals to end up at 118 for 5 in 14.2 overs.

With no assurance of moving towards setting a challenging target with Chris Gayle also back in the pavilion for a lusty 46 made from 24 balls that had six fours and two sixes, the Punjab Kings found their saviour in Brar who together with Rahul shared in an unbroken partnership of 61 runs in just 5.2 overs.

As Rahul anchored the innings with an unbeaten 91, Brar chipped in with 25 from just 17 deliveries that had two sixes one of which came in the last ball of the innings when he swung a ball from medium paceman Harshal Patel over mid-wicket.

For the first time in the tournament Patel who is the leading wicket taker could not take a wicket, as he conceded 53 runs from his four overs with 22 of them coming in the final over.

Rahul made his unbeaten 91 from 57 balls with seven fours and five sixes after the Punjab Kings were put into bat by Kohli who won the toss.

Prithvi Shaw's Brilliant Knock Powers Delhi Over KKR

IPL 2021 25th Match - Delhi Capitals vs Kolokota Knight Riders - Ahmedabad

Opening batsman Prithvi Shaw made child's play of the Kolkata Knight Riders as he led his Delhi Capitals team to a comprehensive seven wicket win in their IPL match in Ahmedabad on Thursday reaching a 155 target in just 16.3 overs.

Shaw reigned supreme as he thrashed the bowlers to all corners of the field in making a majestic 82 in just 41 balls with 11 fours and three sixes while the Knight Riders had no formula to keep him in check as he went on to become the undisputed man of the match.

The match was as good as over in the 14th over when Shaw's opening partner Shikkar Dhawan (46) was leg-before to paceman Pat Cummins with the total at 132 with just 23 runs needed and more than six overs left and nine wickets in the bag.

Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant hit one four and two sixes to finish off the matchmaking 16 from eight balls as the Knight Riders slumped to their fifth defeat from seven matches.

The Knight Riders were able to reach a total of 154 in the 20 overs thanks to a late flourish from Andre Russell who made an unbeaten 45 from 27 balls with two fours and four sixes after his team collapsed to 109 for 6 inside 17 overs.

Russell was the only batsman to get on top of the Delhi Capitals' bowlers after opener Shubman Gill left the crease caught at long-on Steven Smith with his score on 43 in the 13th over, the fifth out with the total at 82.

The Delhi Capitals had it their way until Russell came along to take his team's total to some respectability after middle order batsmen Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine were dismissed without scoring, both falling victim to Lalith Yadav within the space of three balls.
