Training for climbing! We've done posts about climbing training before. Why do people train? Is it so that they can achieve higher grades? So they can enjoy the sport more? The challenge? The fun of training? Or maybe even the ability to measure small improvements in specific areas? Everyone's different! Whatever the case, training is undoubtably becoming a greater part of climbing for everyone. No longer hidden away in the cellars of sadistic professionals (@tompaulrandall ) but out in the open for everyone to see. The results of training and, more specifically, scientifically informed training is producing fantastic results. Coaches and trainers like @latticetraining collect data from large sets of people to find out what works and what doesn't. It is no longer just a case of buying a @beastmakers and hanging off it for as long as you can. This is the age of the training program. Now you need to know how to use it. In our opinion, training is great! We love it for the challenge, the social aspect of going to the gym and the achievement of measuring a better score or knocking through your grade plateau. Keep it up climbers!!
