Though this would be a good walk on a hot day. The trig point at Sir William Hill gives great views over the surrounding peak District, none more so than over to the eastern edges. Walked this route in the reverse way. The route down to Stoke Ford and back to the road was not the open landscape that I had seen before but full of bracken. The paths underfoot are easy to follow but through braken over 1m high in places. Perhaps the braken loves the heat we have had in summer 2026.
