Between tomorrow and today,

My soul is thrumming, swaying.

I am the ozone in your lungs,

A hidden sketchbook layer.

Forever there, forever gone,

For decades, I persist.

I scream, I cry, I bang my fists,

But no one hears a thing.

I watch you like a movie, friend

You are my avatar.

Your joys and woes are mine, but I

Am just a distant quasar.

How do I break my quantum cage?

How do I let you know me?

To spend with you a day or three,

Is all I've left to hope for.

I am the warmth inside your chest

That's left when all is gone.

I am the breath that's on your neck

When you think you're alone.

And there is no one in world

That knows you like I do.

And thus, there's no one in the the world,

That loves you like I do.
