Eventually I wanna flesh out a vague au idea I had where SBURB (and by extension Doc Scratch) never existed and instead Alternia is like, just a Sci fi alien world that developed without the cue ball heads influence. Still shitty and violent but more like, fleshed out and balanced if that makes sense?? Mostly I just wanna take the crumbs of troll world building we have from canon and pseudo canon (Hiveswap/Friendsim for example) and run with it to do concepts for like, nature scenery or architecture and tech etc etc blah blah
Anyway the base for this is the beta trolls still grew up on Alternia but into adulthood and since Alternia isn’t a child only death planet to train for SBURB just like, play with the ideas of what they might do on world
And because back in the day the ancestors were my fav, maybe just ignore the timelines for the sake of playing in this sandbox and having the ancestors still be alive in their positions at this time with an off world ban of adults not taking place yet.
Maybe for certain prestigious positions there’s a tradition of either culling your descendant to not deal with competition or sorta taking them under for mentoring to keep the bloodlines reputation strong (though I headcanon most trolls, if aware of their descendants and vice versa, probably just ignore them with not much of a desire to seek the other out). As an example, the Condesce would of course still kill any competition (compefishion? carpefishion??), but would trolls with high status like Eridan, Gamzee and Equius seek out some sort of tutoring from their ancestors? Idk. Poor Karkat would still be suffering probably
