The soft beeps of buttons being pushed and the metallic hum of the space ship filled the cockpit with noise. At the hull were two bustling figures, one was reprogramming coordinates, the other was preparing the ship for what may be its last voyages.
“Why are we doing this again?” Murmured one of them to the other. This person had the familiar burn scars and emerald green eyes, adorned by orange armor and a cape. At his side, two plasma daggers laid sheathed, ready for the adventure. Their attention turned to the blue cladded person, wearing similar armor. The two shared exact facial structures, brown hair that stayed uncut and hanging past their eyes. The blue one smiled. His eyes were hazel. Aside the small scar on his lip and nose, those he got when he was younger, his face was unburned.
“Ending what we started” He spoke confidently, pressing his hand into a slot on the controls, pushing up a hologram and setting to work. A year gave them plenty of time to learn and gain their supplies. The scarred one stood up, tracing his hand over the desk and slowly stroking a metallic covered cat. As soon as touch was felt, it’s orange eyes flickered alight to power on. It let out a soft metallic purr and rolled over, showing off it’s stomach to the pirate. This pirate was referred to as T2, called 2 by the other. The other pirate eyed him, Taylor as he is called, punched more buttons and pushed himself backwards on the floating chair he resided on.
It had been a year and a half since the blackhole dragged them into the endless void. Only to be spat back up, brought into the Viridian and so on. The boys had made a living, fighting and robbing space stations. Taking down shipping ports. They were living the life as pirates. Like some science fiction movies. They were no longer the same person who left Earth as a research college student who won the lottery. Now they were wanted. Both were taller and stronger than they had been, also gaining some knowledge in fighting. Taylor had his dual solar blasters and rifle. T2 had his orange plasma blades and solar rifle. Both were more than likely to go down fighting, and they loved this life.
“Make sure your solar rifle is ready. We can’t fail this.” Taylor murmured, fingering the blastor in his holster. His hands lower to hang limp. He kicked up his boots and let them rest on the controls. T2 sighed and glared at him, picking up the robotic cat with two hands and carrying him over. He dropped the cat on Taylor’s lap, earning a grunt from the other as he moved past him.
“What’s after this? After we go back to U33J6 and blow it to kingdom come?” T2 spoke slowly, leaning on the wall and opening the weapon compartment, searching for his rifle.
“We go back to Earth, Sol 3 as they called it” Taylor replied, petting the cat. T2 sputtered and straightened, in turn knocking his head on the wall. “Ow!” He looked directly at Taylor. “Are you crazy? We can’t go back!” Taylor turned slowly, pushing the chair to face him while petting the cat. “I know, I know, but we have to! According to the Lifeline- ``''Hell to your lifeline!” “..-Oh shut it. According to them, there's more Greens on Earth. We have to go back to kill the rest!”
“How are we going to explain this to me? How are we going to explain the fact we are manning a military shuttle!?” T2 grew ecstatic, Taylor seemed to shrink back into his seat, letting the cat go and run off. He flinched at T2’s anger. “Simple, We don't get seen-” “1, we have fucking bounties on our head. Just because we blew up the moon isn’t going to take away those bounties!” T2 spat out the curse word angrily, his features twisting into an angry look. “Youre out of your mind” He muttered finally, straightening. His fingers had curled into fists. Taylor stood “Fine, we won't go back to Earth, we’ll kill the Greens out here then that should stop them. The Queen is on U33J6. That should work” T2’s fists uncurled and his anger subsided. “Fine. Anything goes wrong, I will kill you” He growled and walked back over to the control desk, setting in controls and setting the course for the dreaded little moon. Just outside the galaxy, unheard of and alone. This little moon held an evil only known to the two twins. Taylor moved to the back, out of the cockpits and down the dark halls of the ship, alit only by a few soft yellow lights overhead. He made his way to the cargo bay, empty of course. He dug through a few boxes and pulled out a backpack. The backpack was the ones used for mining expeditions, meant to hold anything without falling apart. He found two of them and threw them aside for later. He moved on and eventually left the cargo bay. Back into the hallway, leaving the occupied backpacks in the hall, right outside the door of the spaceship. The door slid open for him as he stepped in and took his seat at the cockpit besides T2. They didn’t look at each other and kept silent for a while. Taylor raised his arm to his eye level, flicking on the Q-comm and talking softly. He waited, T2 looked over his shoulder at him then turned away. Taylor lowered his arm and sighed loudly. “The lifeline says they can get a handle on the Green problem on Earth. They’ve made more connections apparently”
“Fun” Responded T2 sarcastically. “We just have to do our job of-”
“-Dropping in, placing mines all over the peak, holding off Greens, run back to the ship and blow it up” Taylor completed the sentence for him. “And to dodge that blastor that would take the ship out of the sky.” He added quickly. T2 gave him a look of “you are batshit crazy”. But he turned away before anything was said.
“Let's get this show on the road boys!” Exclaimed Taylor, pushing forward the lever that would direct them straight to the small moon. As soon as they were in sight, the mission had begun. What Taylor deemed as Mission Recon.
The ship’s engines fired up, vibrating loudly. Taylor locked in more commands and the ship shot forward.
This mission was their last, if it were another universe. But fate had always had a love for tormenting destiny..
