on a nicer note: I always hear about Richelieu’s 14 cats, but are those all the cats he had over time or is there info that he had 14 cats at once? I guess it would be the former, but still the idea of Richelieu as a crazy old cat lady is edged in my mind. There’s also a list of his cats names ;)
He had 14 cats at the time of his death.
But given that provided them with a loot of room and had servants to take care of them he’s not quite comparable to a modern Cat Lady. XD I asked @freyalor and apparently he only owned 1 or 2 cats at the time the Siege of La Rochelle happened. Apparently, things escalated quickly from there.
