Crochet portrait of the young Swedish environmental activist @gretathunberg 📸 When we planned my birthday trip to Sweden, I decided to bring several portraits of iconic Swedish women and take pictures of them there. 🛄 When I planed my trip to Sweden I made a list of iconic Swedish women to make a crochet portrait of them. My final list of “of course I will have finished them to bring them to Sweden” had 3 women, but as my mind works a bit like “hey, look, a squirrel!”, I only finished Greta Thunberg (finished pictures soon, promise!) in time before the plane took off 🤦🏻‍♀️ 🧵Anyway, I took an assortment of thread balls and my Tulip crochet hooks kit, just in case I had time to make one of the other portraits while here. 🇸🇪 On my first day on Stockholm, though, I realized that I forgot to put in the list who probably was the most iconic Swedish character and undoubtfully a referent of my childhood. She was in all souvenir shops, side by side with Moomin and the vikings!! How could I forget of her! 👧🏼 That first night in the hotel I made a quick sketch of her TV impersonation (closer to me than the illustrated book character that’s everywhere here) and chose the thread balls in my pencil case that could work better with her portrait. I have a very limited color palette and a really small quantity of orange thread, but I will try it! I don’t think I will finish it before leaving the country, but let’s start it at least! ❓Tell me, which iconic Swedish women would you have put in the list? Can you guess my other 2 choices? 🧵 Crochet portrait of @anyataylorjoy in @netflix series #queensgambit 🤡 Ready for the drama? [TLTR: @threadhappens is the rebranding of @Stolenfromthemuses… because sometimes, you know, “thread” happens 😅] My first post in this account is the one I was going to post on my previous account before it was closed without further notice. Well, in fact what has been closed is my personal Facebook account: different emails, different usernames, different content -indeed I haven’t posted anything there since… I don’t remember when!- , two-factor authentication,… The only link was that just few weeks earlier I added my personal account as page administrator of the page linked with my Instagram account to have access to my Instagram account through another source in case something happens. 😵‍💫 Until this issue with Facebook gets sorted (and I already accepted that it wouldn’t), I don’t have access to my Instagram account or any human way to open a ticket. 🤬 Dealing with this situation has been a kafkaesque experience, and after going through all stages of grief now I’m finally ready to start again. 💪 After all, I had this rebranding on mind since long time ago. This situation helped me to stop procrastinating 😅 Welcome to my new me.
