This last year has been a year of many successes but I want to talk about just one. Last year my fiancé and I both were at our highest weights and living very unhealthy lives and that seeped into a lot of other aspects of our lives. I had type 2 diabetes and a myriad of other co-morbidities. Last year we both decided to pick up the phone and get in contact with a bariatric surgery program. We had already attempted this a few years back but both chickened out because we were just not ready. This time we decided we were going to follow through no matter what and did everything we were supposed to do to get our surgery approvals. This year, my fiancé had her gastric bypass surgery in April and I had mine in July. She is down something along the lines of 145 pounds from her highest weight, and as of today I am down 110 pounds from my highest weight and I am no longer diabetic. These pictures are 1 year apart from my fiancés 31st birthday to her 32nd. And these images have put into perspective how overweight I was and how far we have both come in life since then I am incredibly proud of us and I do not regret the decision I have made that has changed and improved my life.
