One of my little headcanons for the Croodsverse, after being inspired during the scene where Grug makes his flying machine, is that Grug was the one who innovated the use of pitch in tool-making (based on the fact that Neanderthals used pitch to create their tools, which shows just how intelligent they were.).

ooh! I like that a lot! You mind if I borrow that headcanon? Also I love when people blend the cartoon universe with real life historical stuff, it makes for some super interesting story concepts. That’s a real good idea you got there for Grug. I got a few headcanons I might share eventually if people are interested too ~

What do you think that the moons that Guy mentions in the film as being a measurement of time are? As he mentions that “two hundred moons” have passed since his parents deaths, while still having a pre-pubescent voice, which if we’re assuming that he means months, makes it sixteen years since his parents died, and he certainly doesn’t look or sound like a three-year-old child (assuming he’s 19 like Eep). Personally I imagine that he’s measuring in moon phases, meaning that “after two of the longest, most terrifying moons of my life”, I’d assume that he’s talking about weeks (as there’s a single, noticeable moon phase per week). What do you think?

Typically moons are supposed to mean months so you're not the only one who'd gotten a bit confused. I know I did because I know moons as that. I'm guessing Guy instead was using moons like "days" or counting by the amount of moon phases he saw night by night in the sky vs him meaning its been "2 months" when he says fourteen moons. A New Age was definitely over the course of two days though, simply due to how rapid scenes passed and how it connected very linearly. [Honestly though I like pretending they WERE on the farm longer just to add more festering for Geep and development for both fams] Anyway long story short, he most definitely means moons as in days instead of months or weeks. DreamWorks probably picked moons to sound more ancient-y or its just something Guy says as we don't hear anyone else measure in moons.

Like you said, to each their own, but I honestly don’t see Eep and Dawn’s friendship as being a romantic relationship, and I’m a lesbian, mind you. The shipping of friends does irritate me as it continues the homophobic belief that two men/women are not supposed to have deep emotional and affectionate relationships with anyone they’re not either related to, thus leading people to categorise any such relationship as being romantic in nature. Also I think your Geep work is adorable 😍

I feel in general shipping no matter the sex/gender/etc has that problem too, not that I’m saying people can’t ship what they like, just don’t go pushing it on people as gospel, yanno? The way dawn says gotcha during dinner makes me ugly laughing every time. Voice actress made an excellent job lol

Dawn’s VA did a great job, a lot of her lines made me laugh, especially when she was loopy on venom and just I GOT SCARRSSSS
