Rosie and the Pathfinder crew go down somewhere over France on their way back from Nuremberg. It isn’t a coincidence that Crosby collapses around the same time Rosie was reportedly last seen with the formation, afflicted with pain that doesn’t quite feel like his own.

I love the idea of a fanfic in that beloved 5+1 format where it’s 5 times someone gave Rosie the shovel talk regarding his relationship with Crosby plus 2 times they realized Rosie didn't need one/they have nothing to worry about.

1. Blakely & Douglass telling Rosie to fly safe because Crosby might not be able to handle losing another close friend. They mention Bubbles, whom Crosby doesn't usually speak about unless he's drunk. Rosie was under the impression that they were just friends but they were actually very very close friends (...and maybe they might have been more?)

2. Jack Kidd calling Rosie into his office. He asks Rosie about the nature of his relationship with Crosby, and Rosie is lowkey nervous expecting another standard “if you hurt him talk.” Instead, Jack just warns him that Crosby neglects his own needs all the time and makes it clear that it is now Rosie’s job to make sure Crosby stays alive. That means keeping Crosby fed, making sure he gets enough sleep, doesn't overwork himself, etc.

3. Crosby’s navigators, who are ridiculous protective of their Group Navigator. They subtly mention that they have ways of making people quietly disappear (see Leafy Hill)

4. The former POW's (aka Brady, Ham, Buck, Bucky, etc) when they're back at Thorpe Abbotts finding out Croz and Rosie are together. They’re like, "he might be a Major now but he's still that humble and skittish little fella we met back in the states” and if he hurts a hair on Croz's head they will make him well aware of why the 100th BG was so infamous before they'd even stepped foot in England

5. Bubbles, although unknowingly because it's from beyond the grave via a letter Rosie found. It was addressed to Croz, worn at the edges and some of the words smudged from Crosby rereading it so many times. It was one of those "in case I don't make it home" letters and Bubbles mentions haunting tf out of whoever he dates if they don’t treat him right. "How will you know you I don't approve, you may ask? Trust me when I say that there will be signs."

+1 Everyone realizes that Rosie is very much smitten with Crosby and would literally do anything for him, so they have no reason to be worried.

+2 They all witness first hand that Crosby can hold his own, thank you very much. Rosie is well aware of the fact that Crosby he can be lowkey terrifying sometimes without even really meaning to, and even more so when he tries to be (see that scene in ep 9)
