Yooo, new crosscode update!

I never really got into customizing my character, but still, I really do appreciate that they made cosmetics into an actual part of the story.

imagine being trapped in a video game and knowing you have a real life but being unable to remember it.

imagine briefly entertaining the thought that maybe there is no "real life", maybe you're just a ghost in the literal machine and this is all there is.

imagine speaking optimistically about it, asking if it really matters, because it's easy to say things like that when it's only a scary hypothetical and a part of you is still convinced that you can get out of here and go back to your normal life.

imagine waking up and finding out that not only is that scary hypothetical your real life now, you've been out of commission for seven months while a bureaucratic battle was fought for you and multiple friends' right to exist.

imagine finding out that the person you thought you were is waiting for you in the other room and you just have to walk out that door and pretend it doesn't bother you.

imagine adjusting to a life bound by the mechanics of a hyper-immersive MMORPG while struggling to reconcile your sense of identity with the fact that your personhood and everything that makes you you has always belonged to someone else.

imagine grappling with all of this while being in regular contact with your original and continuously recalling bits and pieces of their life as if it were your own.
