BERKMAU5 is the ultimate house party DJ, serving up hit after hit on his Crossfader mixes. This DJ makes great use of all of our packs, and his penchant for big-room house anthems is always a safe bet for a perfect weekend soundtrack:

What is your name / where are you from?

I’m Dogukan Berk, I live in Istanbul. 

How long have you been using Crossfader?

At least a year. I keep coming back for all the new DJ packs. 

What’s your favorite part of using Crossfader?

My favorite part is being able to DJ without using any equipment. If I’m not at school or spending time with friends, I’m usually on Crossfader. 

Your mixes are very popular on Crossfader. Ever considered making music a career? 

I want to make a career in music, but I haven’t had the opportunity yet. Crossfader is the first step ;-)

Who are your musical influences?

Armin van Buuren; Zedd; Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike; Tiesto; Hardwell; Nicky Romero; Sebastian Ingrosso; Swedish House Mafia; Calvin Harris; and Chris Lake. 

And who is your favorite DJ to follow on Crossfader?

DJ’s Bob Mi Musica. 

Any special plans for your summer and the rest of 2015? 

Enjoying life, discovering more DJs and music, and doing more crossfading!

Meet the #CrossfaderSTAR: Mu$ti777

“Meet the #CrossfaderSTAR” is a recurring interview series which showcases Crossfader’s top DJs. Our latest entry takes us to Baghdad, Iraq, home to Mu$ti777. 

Mu$ti777 (real name: Mustafa) stormed onto the Crossfader scene and made quite a name for himself in a very short period. He joined Crossfader just a few weeks ago and has already amassed over 250 followers, thanks in no small part to his near-daily contributions: nearly 120 mixes already! 

But don’t mistake Mu$ti’s prolific output for quantity-over-quality, because it’s just the opposite: this guy is good. Mustafa joined Crossfader around the same time we launched loop searching, and he’s taken advantage of the feature in every way. You never know which classic drop Mu$ti might pull out of left field, and that’s just the way we like it.

What is your name and where are you from?

I’m Mustafa, from Baghdad, Iraq. 

How long have you been using Crossfader? What keeps you coming back?

5 weeks. The idea of how the system works is very smart, and having the tracks already cut is also a good thing. 

What’s your favorite part of Crossfader?

The online society gives you chances to meet people, get to know them, or even make some small or big dreams come true! 

How, where, and when do you like to use Crossfader? What do you do when you’re not crossfading? 

Whenever I’m alone. Or with people, too...we connected 5 headphones to one iPhone on a train trip once, just to mix! When I’m not crossfading, I like to download and listen to new music. 

Any interest in pursuing a music career?

Yeah, I already have some part-time work as a DJ where I live. 

Who are your favorite artists and/or musical influences? 

David Guetta, Afrojack, GTA, and many more...I have a few favorites from every style of music. 

2015 is halfway done. What are you most looking forward to doing with the rest of your year?

I’ll be busy transferring universities and moving into a new place. Whenever I’m by myself, I’ll be mixing on Crossfader!

“Meet the #CrossfaderSTAR” is a recurring interview series which showcases Crossfader’s top DJs. Our latest entry takes us to the Lone Star State, home to CHAWK. 

CHAWK (real name: Colin Hawkins) is a seasoned Crossfader veteran -- if you’ve listened to our Top Mix Charts this year, you’ve undoubtedly heard some of his awesome work. CHAWK has a musical background and uses it to his advantage whenever he’s mixing on Crossfader. How long have you been using Crossfader? What keeps you coming back?

I’ve been using Crossfader for at least a year; what keeps me coming back are the new packs and new opportunities to make new mixes. 

What’s your favorite part about Crossfader? How, when and where do you like to use it?

My favorite part is being able to mix different songs without using so much equipment, and hearing the mixes I create come to life. I like to use Crossfader as a way to relieve stress from work; I tend to use it at my house when I’m relaxed, have free time, or when I have an idea in my head. 

When you’re not on Crossfader, what do you like to do?

I like to exercise, and chill with my two dogs when I have the chance. 

Do you have any interest in pursuing a music career?

I have been thinking about becoming a school band director, but I’m not too sure yet. 

Who are your favorite artists and/or musical influences?

SevnthWonder; Pomo; Major Lazer; TroyBoi; Phonat; Sweater Beats; Gravez. 

And who are your favorite DJs to follow on Crossfader?

I can’t really choose favorites, since there are so many good Crossfader DJs I try to follow. 

What are you most looking forward to doing in 2015?

Enjoying life, discovering more DJs and new music, and doing more crossfading.

Meet the #CrossfaderSTAR: chaznfsegordon

Here at Crossfader, our goal is to build the best remix community on the planet. Naturally, we know some mixes will sound better than others...but we are truly blown away by the talent we hear from our users on a daily basis!

"Meet the #CrossfaderSTAR" is a new interview series featuring some of Crossfader's top DJs. Our first #CrossfaderSTAR is the oh-so-talented chaznfsegordon:

Chaz's unique nu-house-meets-disco hybrid, plus his knack for finding the perfect songs to mix, makes him a must-follow on Crossfader. We asked Chaz a few questions about his musical influences, techniques for crossfading, and more...here's what he had to say:

What is your name and where are you from?

I’m Charlie from the one and only Scotland aka Drumchapel, Glasgow.

How long have you been using Crossfader?

About 10 months.

How, when and where do you like to use Crossfader?

At little parties with friends, but mostly everywhere I can get a chance, public or private.

When you’re not on Crossfader, what do you like to do?

I mostly sample music for fun; music is a massive part of my life. 

Do you have any interests in pursuing a music career?

Hell yes!  I have done (and used to do) underground raves from 1987 to 1996, so yes for sure.

Who are your favorite artists and/or musical influences?

Where can I start?  My favorite DJs are definitely DJ Massie, Rallle3 from Soundcloud, Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Chris Liebing, Dave Angel, The Prodigy...I can go on and on. My list is 25 years long!

So many of the DJs from the CLR show, like Fen Leki and Frank Sharp, who I played next to years ago...and of course, the Slam Boys from my hometown Glasgow. I find that any music I hear gives me non-stop ideas of what new style I can try and mix together. My head is a non-stop playlist. Trance, techno, ambient trance, and all bouncing music is a massive part of my life..really all music, I should say. 

Who are your favorite DJs to follow on Crossfader?

Crunchynut, Iontheprize, Xxl, Nfse1690, Bob Mi Musica, DJ Pro Tip and Seth.

What are you most looking forward to doing in 2015?

That's easy! Getting my 2K PA amp and mixer, plus hosting more of my own parties with my new sound system so I can play my mixes live like I did before, just in a bigger place. To be honest, I really am thinking of going back to playing my Technics 1210 and all my white labels again full time...so party on, 2015!
