re comics vs cartoon or live action media for dc and marvel:
As a primarily comic roleplayer I can admit that there’s honestly aspects of some adaptations (especially mcu and arrow verse) that I honestly get frustrated with for nominal characterization reasons.
However .That does not mean I can be rude or turn my nose up at mcu or arrowverse roleplayers for playing from those verses.
Issues such as whitewashing or disability religious or sexuality erasure etc in adaptations are a totally different story, but a well intentioned roleplayer playing any from either comics or live action both deserve equal respect. People always matter more than characters.
But yeah so to mcu and arrowverse/other non comics verse adaptation writers, from a comic roleplayer This anon sees y’all and if I see y’all being treated poorly for simply not playing comics versions I’ll gladly call out !
i mean, for sure! i do personally like arrowverse, but cw's oliver is like night and day to comic ollie. i just genuinely think like as long as people are being respectful with each other and willing to work through any canon differences, then that goes a long way, honestly. but like treating people badly, acting superior, ignoring / isolating characters from different canons is just childish atp.
