Well, so obviously Mac comes up with inventions that could destroy the world, not entirely on purpose but it just sorta keeps happening, and Jack runs a Mystery Shack and Becky gets a sweet hat with a pine tree on it, when her parents send her on a (reasonably short) bus ride to go hang out at her uncle’s for the summer....

Because different family dynamics, different storyline; Mac’s in the process of building an epic portal when summer starts. Yeah, that’d be the way to do it.

One of the few times somebody was quicker off the mark than MacGyver in a crisis, it was this sweet, mild-mannered janitor. Mac tried to find and thank him afterwards, and ended up totally confused as to how the guy had vanished so thoroughly that even the Phoenix Foundation couldn’t find him...
And also there was a lot of stuff in the tabloids that week about Los Angeles playing host to a freaky green monster, but Mac’s a rationalist and doesn’t pay attention to that sort of guff.

@an-actual-lion had the idea for a NGE and TRC crossover and I really wanna write something for it, but not right now. So here’s a blurb I have jotted down so I don’t forget. Enjoy.

“Did it ever occur to you that, perhaps, this is what hitsuzen intends?”
Red met red, pipe smoke wafted between the two, heady and thick.
Finally, Kaworu moved. He knelt, lowing his head to the floor. “Any price,” he begged. “Anything at all.”
Yuuko considered him for a long moment. “Very well,” she said. “I will give you the means to continue searching for your answers. However, you will continue your endless cycle until those answers are found, unable to return to the boy you are trying so desperately to bring happiness. It may be centuries before you ever see him again.”
Kaworu lifted his head. “I will do whatever I must.”
The look Yuuko settled him with was one of the deepest sadness. “I know.” With a wave of her hand she summoned her magic circle. “I will send you to the ones you will travel alongside, they bare the aura of my magic, you’ll know them when you see them. They will be your companions until you find your answer.”
And with that, the world around Kaworu dissolved into nothing, an almost familiar feeling, like the gentlest of deaths.
