would you guys read a novel about a man who accidentally calls up the devil to make a deal and has to spend the entire novel struggling with temptation, while also gradually finding out that their meeting was way more inevitable than he thought?
i feel i have made the female protagonist of my novel way too unlikeable for a novel from the perspective of a man (I like her but i fear most readers will not, and idk how to rein it in)
me in april: okay, i'm gonna take a break from this endless 130k+ draft and pump out this short little novel! it should be easy, it's got a straightforward plot, and ONE protagonist for once; i bet this is gonna be like 60k, it'll be sooo easy
me now, staring at a 44,000 word draft that i'm not even halfway into: ....... FUCK
