Peter Sam having another argument with Rosemary, the Refreshment Lady
At the Works Station, Henry had left the VIP's and their coach, to run into a siding to take on water.
"Hello, what's that?" Henry mused.
"Good grief!" He gasped, a second later. "Is that James?!"
The signalmen were as surprised as Henry. The branch line train had only just left, and they had not reset the junction points…
Peter Sam and Duncan Double-head a train out of Crovans Gate Wharf
Sodorgust day 29: fire
Rusty and Duncan struggled up the old wooden bridge with their long train, more fire was eating its way up the support beams, the smoke slithering up between the decaying wood, and the fire on the trees in the hills and mountains were taking them from above. The two engines slipped and quarter-slipped up the grade as the sound of wooden beams breaking and falling began to increase; it caused even the coaches behind them to silently start crying along with the parents and children. "Please, Lady,I'm begging you" Rusty began, "we've already lost so much and-" he was cut off by a Scottish accent, "We can't lose what little we have left. All the families, all the trees and animals and trucks and workmen and vehicles who couldn't escape the flames, so please, please, allow me to save those I can from the fate of those less fortunate", and Duncan blew his whistle, Rusty his horn, and they sent their prayer into the heavens. Nothing happened, and for a second all lost hope, until Duncan's steam pressure shot upward, and with a mighty blast of his whistle, he surged forward blasting steam in all directions, and as he did the smoke divided like a giant snowplow was run through it, and the engines marched their train across the bridge before the smoke closed behind them and the bridge was engulfed in tall, white-hot flames, and the duo, guided by Lady and the spirits of the narrow gauge down to Crovan's Gate.
Traintober day 8: Impact
Thomas sat dazed and confused, he had just backed through one of the back walls of Crovan's Gate sheds.
"Uhh, excuse me, but could someone help me, my bunker is starting to get quite chilly"
"You always seem to find all the accident spots on Sodor, Thomas, Percy said from the track over, "oh how can you be so accident prone?"
"Shut up" Thomas quipped back as Wendell the works diesel made an attempt to get Thomas back in the building.
When james the red engine first arrived, he was L&YR black.
That very same day, his black ass nearly got sent to the shadow realm due to his wood catching fire.
When he returned from the works, he was painted in the new experimental nwr red with black stripes on the side of his cab and gold boiler bands, but no lining on his splashers.
After james took the express when gordon got yeeted around on thr loop line sir Charles added lining to James's splashes, (for my headcannon).
After james slams into some tar tankers he gets taken to the works by toby and percy where, alongside toby, james was panted in the Skarlowey livery
OK, so why is james in Skarlowey red, well, I think the Unlucky Tug's "Sodor Debunked" put it best, james saw the SKR engine's liveries and asked to be painted in that color.
Side note: while james and toby were being repainted they both gained a mutual respect for each other. James's skr livery also persuaded people to take the nwr to go and ride the skr.
