This was in the Shipping wiki LMAO.
behind every gay person is a more evil gay person
Crowly: listen, do you hear that?
Aziraphale: I don’t hear anything
Crowly: that’s the point, no nightingales
I’m not at all coming back to my good omens phase…
Good Omens 3 spoilers!
I think that y'all are overreacting the fact that there was no kiss. Love doesn't show itself in only this way. You can see that they understood themselves, they knew that they loved each other. It was just a gentle goodbye, because they knew they had all of those years together and they both made the decision to die with each other. They are so deeply connected, not only romantically, it is something that is much more that this. The complete trust in one another and the fact that it is a choice made by them.
I like the idea of creating the world without god. The world where humans can decide what they want. When there is no situations that they are forced to act a certain way because heaven or hell manipulated them. I can see why both of them hated the idea of living in completely deterministic world. You could see how Crowley perceived it saying to Aziraphale that he won't change anything even as an archangel.
Why did Crowley did it? I think that he did not see the reason to keep existing in this bookshop with no books, without friends and everything that was on earth. This universe is no longer his and Aziraphale's. It is just a blank hole. I think he may also saw him and Aziraphale as the last symbols of old world order. It was soul crushing that they sacrificed themselves and I would rather that it didn't happened. I can see how some may not understand this decision. Crowley wanted them to run away together. He also wanted them to not be tied into any systems and great plans. Maybe it was the only way they could be truly free and not dependant? The final choice of free will, the denial of nature will to live. At least they knew that they loved each other in this universe and I think that they would chose the same fate every time even though it lead to death. Now the new Aziraphale and Crowly. Yes, they are not exactly them. Or perhaps god made one final change in their wish and put their souls on this planet. They had a chance to be with one another without fear or any obligations. It shows that they found and chose each other in every life.
I liked that ending. It was bitter-sweet. Up to our own interpretation.
