I kind of hate how LARPing has become so common in the video game community that now I've got to question MYSELF as a fan.

I will admit, I am not a Devil May Cry fan. I am a fan of Devil May Cry.

My only console I've ever had was a PlayStation 3 and it's run its course so I am not well versed in modern video games.

The reason I have opinions on video games is because my information comes from playthroughs, breakdowns, and watching cutscenes. So I have a lot of knowledge on games like Devil May Cry and Metal Gear but I don't know the full story and am subject to being corrected at any moment.

I won't lie and say I am a true fan of anything, but I know a lot about the Devil May Cry series to give my opinion on Adi Shankar's anime. Because at least I can rest easy knowing there's a way worse LARPer out there than me.

The best games I've ever played were Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time. I don't make a lot of posts about Ratchet & Clank on my blog because I haven't really played the other games, but it's kinda funny for me to see how lucky I was that the only Ratchet & Clank title I played besides All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault was literally the best game in the franchise. And my knowledge on Assassin's Creed as a franchise comes from what I've picked up online, as I've said about Devil May Cry and Metal Gear.

There's nothing that really prompted this post, like this isn't an apology or anything. But it's basically a forewarning that most of my posts about video games henceforth will be based on what I've learned online and I am subject to being corrected.

Some of yall may have heard some of the shit that has been going on right now. I'm gonna give a quick run down of some of the stuff that has been happening. Note, this is not all, and it may never be all as much as I will try to update this.

(I am going to try and compile and briefly explain these as much as I can. There may be misinformation. Please inform me if I got something wrong.)

1) Racist Chinese Dolls.

There are these dolls in China that are being called "Natasha" baby dolls. These dolls are not only very obvious caricatures of black people, but they are being advertised as a "stress relief" in which the people who buy these abuse it in various ways.

2) The Mocking, Abuse, and Dehumanization of Black Children.

Apart from the aforementioned doll, there are apparently people going around mocking, abusing, and dehumanizing black children.

Some people have compared black children to the doll.

Others have been going into African countries and have found ways to mock, abuse, and dehumanize black children for clout.

3) Black people are going missing.

Black people, especially children and teens have recently been going missing at an alarming rate. Some of these same people are turning up dead, deaths being ruled as "suicides."

While it generally unknown why many of these people are going missing, many suspect that their disappearances, deaths, and even lack of coverage is rooted in anti-blackness.

The following is a list of black people that have been reported missing as of recently. Please note that this is not a complete list (it may never be completed due to the fact that many of these disappearances will still occur as time passes) this may contain inaccurate information. Please inform me if that is the case.

By the time you see this, some of these people may have already been found either alive or deceased. This post will be updated overtime.

I listen to both the original version of Lullaby For A Princess and the Caleb Hyles cover every day and something I find interesting is how Caleb Hyles's version is slightly more operatic but Christina Ellis is far softer.

Now, I really like Caleb's version because it's a very impressive performance, but the Christina Ellis version hurts more for me because she sounds so gentle and genuinely sad.

To put into words as best I can, Caleb's voice is like the voice of a choir and company: dramatic, deep, and while filled with emotion is separate from the trauma; but Christina Ellis sounds like a sister actually sad about a sister and trying to apologise for what she's done every winter that passes and every morning she sets the moon and puts Luna to bed.

I remember a few weeks or months ago @leefelixsgaybestie accused me of writing smut simply because of how I described a kissing scene.

Admittedly, I did forget to include the operative detail that they actually kissed (I only described what they were doing with their hands) and it was a prelude to the two characters nearly having sex before the boyfriend had a panic attack and pulled away but it couldn't have been THAT BAD.

If I ever actually wrote smut or hell, if I ever wrote hentai, I'd be so annoying about it.

There's no saying that I could outhorny the other writers in the genre but I'd make the plot so gripping and so genuinely interesting with terrifying villains and a great story, just with a bunch of sex scenes and explicit content.

And you know what will happen because of it? Your little horny ass would be consuming it in some room all by yourself, or in a coffee shop, or wherever the fuck you watch and read this kind of shit.

Then you get hooked into the story and realise that so many people are missing out on something genuinely interesting, and you have to go and tell your friends about it.

But how will you tell them you discovered it? Did you really watch it on Crunchyroll, or some illicit piracy site?

And then I get cancelled on Twitter because "It's a really good story, but there's way to much explicit stuff."

After thinking on this for a while, I think I can comfortably argue that Azula might not be fit for redemption

Yes, she's just 14. Yes, she has psychological issues. But what we're forgetting is that Iroh's redemption came at the cost of his son and Zuko's redemption came at him literally having a metamorphosis to change his worldview. Azula on the other hand is going in the opposite direction

Azula doesn't want help, every attempt to help her has only pushed her further on this path that she's on. And while she may not be set in her ways just yet, she is being set in her ways as she's developing

Unfortunately for her, that refusal to try to change and be better will eventually result in her becoming like Ozai and there's nary a thing you can do to change that. I know from personal observation that trying to aggressively change someone to "save them" doesn't work because all it does is convince them further that the path they're on is the correct one

I in fact know someone very close to me who's been in Zuko's situation where they had a sister who was Daddy's Little Girl and got away with everything and hurt them yet still ended up being saved by their elder "sibling" (to use a generous term) and refused to change afterwards

I'm not saying it's impossible, but the current trajectory reads improbable unless Azula experiences something lifechanging. Suffering isn't enough of an argument for redemption, she needs to actually go under a major metamorphosis like Zuko's fever to reset her path

I don't know if it's because I grew up with movies like Rio and Coco and shit but I feel like there's a lot of overlap between Latin America and Central/Southern Africa when it comes to culture.

Cause like, I always thought Rio was in Africa for some reason because it seemed so similar to South Africa but obviously Rio is in South America and even watching Coco, Mexico didn't look that different.

And even though I didn't necessarily listen to too much African music in comparison to Latin American music, I guess the influence of African music on Latin American music was part of the reason I felt so at home with it and why it felt so scenic to me.

Which I guess is kinda weird to say because I'm Coloured, not Indigenous, but that probably doesn't really matter because I grew up in this place anyway so it literally is my home and I'm not gonna knock a White guy who grew up in China and is named something like Zhenwei Borgeson for feeling at home with Chinese music but I did feel the weird need to clarify that I'm not Indigenous, but I did grow up hearing a lot of South African music everywhere because I grew up in South Africa obviously.

And the weirdest overlap I learned about was my mom telling me not to wear my jacket funny because people will think I'm a cholo because apparently, the Cartel is also here. Like South Africans in the Cape Flats for some reason like to say "Orale vato!" at you if you walk down the street looking like a cholo, and that's probably unrelated to me and my family speaking like stereotypical Mexicans with my mom calling us stuff like "Los Chachalacos" to call us for things.

So musically, scenically, culturally, I feel like there's a lot of overlap between Latin America and Central/Southern Africa. But that's just my opinion.

This past couple weeks I've been getting toy ads for The Mandalorian & Grogu and Toy Story 5 and I just now got a toy ad for He-Man & The Masters of The Universe. Is it the fucking 80s again?

Now, even though I don't like the fact that these are cheap plastic, it does kind of fit into the novelty of that time period doesn't it? Cheap plastic toys to go along with the release of a movie and saving the actual effort for later toy lines?

Too bad it has to come along with the US Government regressing into the 50s with their recent ICE hotline and "anti-alien" fearmongering. Sorry to derail but it just straight up feels like both companies and governments are back to old school tactics.
