            he’s quiet for awhile, maybe almost too long because this reunion is about to slip into awkward silence. but then finally, the swordsman speaks up, “i just--!” great, awesome, super awesome start jaune, nailed it. he has to swallow a mouthful of nothing before he can speak again. 

           “...i just wanted to say i’m sorry. for...i don’t know, back at beacon? i was so set on getting you to like me that i never stopped to ask why you didn’t.”

    Acidic hues glance over pale white before him from where he sits, leaned back in a comfortable chair, a mahogany desk between himself and the student.           ‘ Mind if I ask what you're doing here? “Is there a reason you never talk to people?” (from child Weiss bc it's cute)

Winter stared down at her little sister, uncertain of how to answer the question asked. Maybe because Weiss was younger and thought to be adorable by their father’s guests, she was encouraged to babble on about what she had been learning rather than be told to only speak when spoken to.

What a lovely gilded cage her sister lived in and didn’t seem to see.

Was there an answer that she could give that wouldn’t come back to bite her? Did it truly matter? 

“An evil magician cursed me, so I can only speak when they are not around.” The truth wrapped up in a ridiculous lie might, at the very least, entertain her sister. There was no need to cause trouble now.

ren’s preferred sleeping position is on his side, with his back to the nearest wall available. ren developed insomnia after his traumatic experiences, afraid to go to sleep because of the nightmares that plagued him. now, he cannot sleep for longer than a few hours without waking, leaving him constantly tired and stressed. because he found that he hated staying in bed trying to feign sleep, he spent a lot of time at beacon finishing his assignments ridiculously early, or practicing calligraphy on the rooftop by moon or lantern light. he tends to get cold very easily, and will steal blankets or cuddle up to any bed partners. when he is cold and trying to sleep is the only time he is so needlessly touchy. although sleeping with your back to someone is normally considered cold, unfeeling, like you’re trying to block someone out, ren considers it a sign of trust. if ren does not trust you in the slightest, he will be unable to close his eyes around you. when he was first assigned to dorms with pyrrha and jaune he had a horrendous time getting rest because he just did not trust them yet. on the first night they slept in the hall he didn’t sleep properly at all. having ren fall asleep on you is an ultimate sign of trust.

-- It had been a slow day so far at the Bitty Bean; something Noah had gotten...decently used to; being there as long as she had. So; she had decided to take some time to doodle on one of the chalkboards they had kept behind the counter. .She was beginning to draw a second little bean to accompany the first and give it a friend, when she heard the bells by the door go off. 

“Hello, welcome to the bitter bean. How can I help you today?”
