     theo was much more quiet than his sister, was less abrasive and had a far KINDER heart. perhaps that’s why he offers to help steve bandage his wounds since it was echo that had cause such a thing. she’d gotten startled when steve walked in and actually scratched his arm before running off to hide in a room. it wasn’t the best of moments but the young boy hoped he could make up for it. 

     “ sorry about her, ”   he whispers as he gently wipes the blood off of his skin with an alcohol wipe, then grabbing some of the medicated ointment. it was something he was used to doing, taking care of others. it’s what he did with his sister for practically his entire life. with a heavy sigh, once the ointment is spread, he is grabbing a piece of gauze to wrap around the other’s arm. theo is gentle in his movement as he wraps it a few times before grabbing the medical tape to secure the wrap he had just done.   “ she gets scared. she didn’t mean it. ”   a couple more pieces of tape before he offers a big smile and gently pats his work.   “ all better. ”

     they chose the wrong boy to mess with. she steps out into the night, hands OPEN at her side as she moves close to the bad men. echo allows her instincts to take over her body like an animal would; even the look that she wears does not seem like the usual little girl that had been living in hawkins. no, it was a solider ready for battle. head tilts to the side as she makes the air around them buzz, buzz, buzz, causing many of them to fall to the ground as the sound grew more high pitched and more painful. the moment she sees the slightest bit of blood come from their ears does she let up with the buzzing, does she let her guard down. 

     they’d taken steve because he was helping her, because he gave her a warm meal and a jacket and a place to stay. normally she had little care for other people, except her brother, but steve was like an older brother to her now. with guard down, she can focus her powers even more and forces the noise further into all of the mens ears. and then she hears the familiar noise of ear drums bursting, of bodies collapsing. it’s all ignored as she runs through them to get to the van, ripping the doors open. even the guard who had been in there was laying in a pool of blood near his head. but, her eyes went to the familiar boy and she looks relieved, jumping inside and moving to his side, arms wrapping around him.   “ you’re okay. ”
