99 TAKES ?? that's crazyyy. that opening scene is so iconic and memorable tho tbh david fincher never misses
YEAH and david fincher's meticulousness had them thinking about going for 100 but they decided to stop before it went to 3 digits alskdjfh 💀💀
also that opening scene alone was so much denser than most movies but the scriptwriter aaron sorkin refused to cut it down and so it ended up having all the characters speak really rapidly (a characteristic in a lot of aaron sorkin works) LMAO
david fincher's works are SUCH a vibe though

i used to be on filmtwt and use letterboxd consistently 😵💫 i like talking ab movies as well LOL every time someone asks for a movie rec my brain provides the wolf of wall street and i'm like ...huh...maybe that isn't so appropriate to suggest to my mom! not familiar with aaron sorkin outside tsn tbh but the script is such an important part of movies no matter delivery so ...<3 i'll check him out. but yeah !!! david fincher makes such epic movies dude. i watched gone girl before knowing it was an adaptation but then went to read the book, watched the movie again, and was MINDBLOWN. also..girl with the dragon tattoo...watched it recently it was so good !!
this is so surreal... my interest in film & mcyt is crossing over,, worlds r colliding,,,,, <3 <3
ooo admittedly i've never seen moulin rouge but if you wanna pop off go ahead i'll watch it in ur honor
i’ve been given permission to pop off you can’t take this back <3
so MOULIN ROUGE in my opinion is a literal work of art. not only do each of the songs perfectly match the film, but they’ve been chosen to specifically suit the characters.
for example: my favourite scene and song is el tango de roxanne. it’s this insanely deep and emotional cover of roxanne sang in this growly desperate tone and it’s phenomenal. it matches christian’s pain and satine’s struggles. the scene makes you hold your breath. it’s a punch in the stomach in the best way.
the film is also beautifully produced. everything is vibrant and full of colour, the characters included. all the stops were pulled out to make the movie something unforgettable. it’s a movie that plays to all your senses.
i wanna say more but i also don’t want to spoil if you’re going to watch it <3
the way u listed those things like 1 2 3 4 made me laugh 😭 but uhmm what's ur fav movie u've seen
listen i just had to let people know what they were getting into 🥲
my favourite movie of all time is moulin rouge!!! i could actually talk about it for hours if someone lets me. i have so many thoughts ❤️
