Crown Metropol Quarantine
Once we landed in Melbourne we were escorted through the airport and onto a bus where it took us to Crown Metropol where we were detained for 14 days. The airport process was fairly straight forward and quick. When we arrived at Crown Metropol we were assigned to a room and we weren’t allowed to leave the hotel for 14 days. During our quarantine we were tested twice for Covid; first when you arrived and the second was two days before you leave the hotel. We both tested negative twice. We didn’t do too much in the hotel. I spent most of my time either on the my laptop, reading magazine or watching TV. I watched a lot of ‘Botched’ and ‘Keeping up with the Kardashian’. The prepared meals at the hotel weren’t very good but the snacks were actually good. The snacks were from actual brands like Smiths chips, Cadbury chocolate and muesli bars. Fran, Matt’s mum, sent us a care package with more food. I ended going home with 3 bags of food. The hotel did give us more food than I needed to eat. During our stay we even filmed and applied for the ‘Amazing Race Australia’. We saw the TV ad that the show was looking for contestants since we were both unemployed and didn’t get to go on our summer vacation we thought, ‘why not?’. The whole time we were there we went outside once and we had to stay inside 5 by 5 square area. After 14 days we were assigned to a taxi that dropped me straight home. I decided to stay with my parents and Matt was going to stay with his.
The views were really nice.
The room was spacious.
