It’s fortunate they managed to obtain key crests. Having no need to sleep or eat had its conveniences, but not being able to feel or speak, being so close to losing his humanity, was terrible. He tries to forget the experience.

Of course, while the key crest allows for some control, he still stays awake through long, restless nights. And sometimes, he still fails to feel pain, which means wounds go unattended for longer than they should.

How inconvenient that he should be separated from his companions, in a strange city no less, while he is still in such a state. He keeps his grip on his sword as he traverses the strangely familiar streets -- but no, he has never been here before, so why has that thought appeared in his mind? It distracts him long enough that he does not realize he’s walking far faster than most of the others along this path. How strange... he thought his pace quite average. Hmm.

The events which transpire in those moments happen in a blur of red -- her dress, the woman’s ruffled dress, the last color he sees before crashing into her and falling to the ground himself. His wings appear in a puff of mana, and his face turns an uncharacteristic shade of scarlet. What a situation he has found himself in.

A girl stood beside her as she lounged around inside a store, and it couldn’t be helped that she reminded her of some of the younger ones back on her island. She appeared to be in her early preadolescence, still being able to pass off as naive and innocent. The Empress was not one to show sympathy in a means for an exempt (for the most part), however, and so acknowledging the long, crimson stare given by her had poked her in the wrong way.

All things considered, Cloud didn’t have much experience with… well, gods. Minerva didn’t really count, so far as he was cocnerned. Leviathan, even less so - pretty hard to worship something you could summon to do your bidding. 

The closest thing Cloud had ever actually encountered to a god was Jenova in Sephiroth’s form, and he’d killed that.

So, how could he even be called a god, himself? Cloud had no clue whatsoever. But then again, he wasn’t the one calling himself a god.Other people were calling him that.

It was more confusing than anything else, until people started bowing. Then it got uncomfortable.
