Summer had kicked off, which meant that Elena was going home to Mystic Falls for a couple of months, until school would start back up. She always did that, going back home to spend time with her family and her friends, but there was one thing that had never left her mind the second she'd left for college. Stefan. She'd broken up with him when she'd left, but there wasn't a single day where she didn't miss him, like there was a void in her life that only Stefan could fill back up and more often than not, Elena questioned herself about the breakup. Had it been the right thing to do? Should she not have ended things? Because all she could think of was Stefan these days, especially now that she was back in Mystic Falls. Would it be weird to ask him out for coffee or some drinks? Maybe ask if he wanted to dance with her if they did go out for drinks? Because dancing with Stefan tended to make Elena feel so alive and she remembered their dances so vividly, how being in his arms felt so safe and how gazing into his eyes made her feel so in love. But she'd given all of that up and for what? The doppelganger was currently wandering through her hometown, just trying to see if there was anything that she'd missed during her time away - and yes, she was hoping to bump into Stefan, but she was trying to be subtle about it.
