"Excuse me." Luke muttered, pushing past the other as he followed his target. Sub target? It didn't matter. A crowd surged between them and he cursed softly under his breath, he had lost them.

Tiffany had just gotten home late that night. She’d been in another state for at least a month and was relieved to be back home. Jack, her brother who lived with her, was staying with the guy he’d just started seeing, it felt like a good thing but it left Tiffany alone. When she was home alone too long she didn’t take the quiet very well so she found herself at the building’s indoor pool, swimming laps just to keep moving. It was late at night and no one was around so when she heard the door she jumped a little.

When Sawyer had made his statement, requested that she don't leave, he'd never thought that she might actually decline. That Candice actually wanted to leave. It took him by surprise when she stated that she'd never be first in his heart. For a moment he stood there, confused as to what she could mean. "What are you talking about? Of course you're first. You think that I would cheat on you? Do you really think that I would go out there and find someone else?" It wasn't until the questions had left his mouth that he considered that perhaps she hadn't meant another person, but that perhaps she felt she was competing with something else.

With a sigh, Sawyer took a step back and ran his hand over his face. "So, what you're telling me is that you don't want to be with me? Is that what you're saying? That I'm the only one out of the two of us that wants to be in this relationship? I'm just trying to make sure I have all the facts straight." His voice didn't hold any anger, or sharpness. Instead, he remained calm, waiting for her to answer and clarify where they stood before he allowed himself to feel any sort of pain. It wasn't over until she officially said it was.
