REMY “THIRTEEN” HADLEY, House M.D.
Our level of happiness is set. It’s in our DNA. No cash payout is gonna change that.
JAMES LOGAN HOWLETT, Logan
[I’ve hurt people too.] You’re gonna have to learn how to live with that.
ANNIE AND BONNIE, Terminal
You men, with your bad suits and your pumiced hair, you’re utterly predictable. I reckon to the point of carelessness. I’m the switchblade in the garters, the stiletto in the stilettos. I’m the surprise they never see coming. Who says mystery’s a lost art?
ELIZABETH KEEN, The Blacklist
You know the story – a girl in a cabin with a gun and a dog.

melissa mccall (teen wolf): sweetheart, let me tell you something no teenager ever believes, but I guarantee you is the absolute truth. you fall in love more than once. it will happen again. it will be just as amazing and extraordinary as the first time and maybe just as painful. but it'll happen again. i promise. but until then, be your own anchor.
eric taylor (friday night lights): opportunity does not knock. it presents itself when you beat down the door.
chandler bing (friends): I'm funny, right? what do you know, you're a door. you only like knock-knock jokes.
penny adiyodi (the magicians): do you know how to close your mind because I will show you right now. [quentin: I thought I was.] seriously, man? taylor swift? [quentin: I am NOT singing taylor swift in my head.] ... [quentin: okay, I’ll work on that.]
olive penderghast (easy a): whatever happened to chivalry? does it only exist in 80's movies? I want john cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with patrick dempsey. I want jake from sixteen candles waiting outside the church for me. I want judd nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. just once I want my life to be like an 80's movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. but no, no, john hughes did not direct my life.
deran cody (animal kingdom): I just want to be okay. I just want us to be okay. I just want it to be okay. please. please.
isak valtersen (skam): only you can feel what you feel. [evan: and I haven’t felt anything quite like this. ever.] me either.
brian johnson (the breakfast club): [...] like, when I, when I step outside myself kinda, and when I, when I look in at myself you know? and I see me and I don't like what I see, I really don't.
Dorothy is one of Lena’s all time favourite inspirations. Growing up, she found the relatable orphan to be an inspiration to her due to her consistent fearless nature. Despite all of the trouble she’d gone through, Dorothy never gave up hope that she would return home, all the mean while helping three others on the way. Lena’s home is now within Crownsville, but her journey to find a place to call home never truly felt like it was over until she moved to the town. Despite living with her foster family, she never really called it home. Since she was a child, all she’d ever wanted to do was help others in whichever way she could, to make their lives easier and so that they didn’t live through difficult times with no help as she did. She found a way to do this as a nurse, now very happy that this is her occupation.
B e l l e - Beauty and the Beast
Belle is frequently seen with her head in a book, which is very similar to Lena herself. She enjoys reading more than most, and had found it to be a form of escapism at a young age. Though she doesn’t get time for it much anymore, she still tries her hardest. Her little interest in love and marriage from the start of the movie is similar to that of Lena’s. However, for the woman, it is more of a case of being able to trust a person enough to believe that they won’t hurt her, and she won’t hurt them. Over the years, it is true that her career-focussed approach to life has meant that she has very little interest in love and marriage, however lately she’s been thinking about it. Belle’s loyalty to her father meant that she traded his freedom for her own, something that Lena would do for her closest friends without a doubt.
C h i d i A n a g o n y e - The Good Place
Chidi is a character whose intelligence and need for logic and morality is something Lena admires. He inspires her because he continues to think that Eleanor is a good person, and digs to find the good person inside of her to help her stay in ‘The Good Place’ in the first season. Though they differ in decisiveness, Lena admires Chidi for never changing, and staying true to himself and his morals and ethics.
G i s e l l e - Enchanted
Giselle is a character of whom Lena admires for her positivity and kind nature. Despite there being a large difference between them in the fact that Giselle dreams of her Prince Charming and can’t wait to fall in love with the next man she sees, Lena is still inspired by her ability to attempt to look at the good and fun in everything she does. Her optimism about Earth when she visits inspired Lena to list five things every day that has put a smile on her face. Instead of thinking more deeply about her trust issues in others, she has learnt to still see the positive aspects of mostly everyone around her without feeling like she can trust them with her life.
