3. What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?
Technically Masha's role in the story was decided first, as I really wanted her to be my Warrior of Light (I had Lucette as a warrior of light first, but I didn't know the shape ff14 would take, as a story, so her story came over time and felt less cohesive. I still love her, and she still has a story to tell, but it's not one I felt fit as well for the WoL). I think the next thing I decided was that I wanted her to have a connection to Menphina, because the shoujo vibes gripped me, which bled into her appearance and then finally her name.
5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
In-universe, the sounds for Miqote names are suggested to be heavy with cat hissing sounds, so I wanted that "sh" sound for that. Muunkist as a surname is me having fun trying to subtly make her last name moon-kissed, as she was born on a special day for her clan, so from birth she was considered a blessing from Menphina and given to their priestess to be trained as a Priestess of Menphina.
12. Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?
I haven't actually started a playlist for her yet, I need to! It surprisingly takes me a while to get around to playlists for characters. My inspiration tends to come more visually, and I have an easier time with playlists for ships (especially since so many fucking songs are love songs)
3. What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?
The very first thing I decided for her was that she was going to romance Solas lmfao. I had played through Inquisition 2.9 times at that point without romancing him, and that 0.9th time had even been a Lavellan (though admittedly she was one of my other ocs, an exceedingly prickly one, who would not go for his level of ego). I figured I should figure out what all the fuss was about. Her role in the story has developed significantly especially these last six months, and her first save file is actually named Arwen, so her appearance was the first of the options listed lmao
5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
So her name was actually taken from a conlang project for Dragon Age Dalish that I can no longer recommend. But! It means halla-kissed and comes from how she was found by Clan Lavellan; her parents, city elves, had been attacked on the road, and one of the Clan's halla found her and led the Keeper to her.
12. Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?
I do have a playlist for her! It is here. It's still growing. "Someday I'll Find My Way Home" is one I associate strongly with her, as she spends much of Inquisition trying to maintain who she is, and longing for that "home" where she was comfortable and safe and herself.
