The Crusader looks over at him with an arched eyebrow. She’s openly amused. The Strike Commander - former, she reminds herself - has amused her since she met him only a few days ago. She thinks, perhaps, he means this new Overwatch he doesn’t exactly condone. Either way, she can’t let him live that down.
“Someday. Well, hopefully it comes soon. Crusaders seldom have many years to show people what they do, especially not anymore.”
The smile she gives him is friendly, as she has been to him since they met. She shifts to face him, watching him with merry blue eyes, almost dancing. She’s on the verge of laughter when she speaks again.
“Tell me, Soldier. How would you suggest I blow you all away?”
“I was hoping with rouladen. I can’t make it right -- never tastes good when I do it. But if you can’t cook, then I’d suggest blowing people away with your Crusader skills.”
Teasing is unfamiliar to him, nowadays. He still does it occasionally, that little puckish streak never quite dead. With Zelda, it’s pretty easy to do. She is light-hearted and playful. Morrison find it ...nice. It’s a refreshing change from the bevy of indecencies around them.
The soldier gestures between her arms and her equipment. “I bet it took you a while to learn how to handle all that gear. Were you always fit like this, or did it come after Crusadering for a couple years?”
In fact, Morrison has a reason for seeking out Zelda but hasn’t dropped that bomb on her yet. For now, it’s just talk. Listening, getting a feel for how she thinks and what she feels/
