I entertain you for a while.

Dipped my toes into the shallow.

Tested and tempted

The waters before me.

Entertaining and enticing

With clever words.

Keeping enough between the lines.

I entertained you for a while

With each reply I allowed you in.

Bringing insecurities, unsettled

Sensations of the flesh.

With each evaded question

My mind allowed the addictions

Of my past to creep between

The shadows.

Where I allow the darkness

To push away the light.

In a sudden moment of panic

Deeply rooted within.

Shaking and stirring

Creating fleshing panic

Wars within the core of my identity.

Heavy with guilt and shame

Crushing me.

But not without the way through.

A light peeking through the shadows

Hearing my tears

And cries of my soul.

I entertained you for a while

Destroying my peace and drowning me.

I entertained you for a while,

But fallen in my knees I could no longer carry

The weight I have placed on myself.

I Need Healing

Father God,

Won’t You come

and mend my soul again?

My heart has shattered

into a billion pieces

like broken glass.

Father God,

The boy I loved with a passion,

who I thought had loved me,

has destroyed my fragile pure heart

that I used to call my own.

Father God,

Won’t You come

and glue all of these broken pieces

back together again?

Father God,

I’m crying out to You

on my knees.

Father God,

I’m asking You one question.

Will You come

and heal my broken heart

that I want to call Yours?

Father God,

Claim my heart

as Yours again.
